no flue and going to have one very warm van in the winter

you can hold you hand very close to the top of the heater without it being to hot

and have to say its the dogs b****ks and using hot water can not tell you how good that was

it was like when you first move over to W F P from ladders.

 once you have used hot you would never want to go back to cold

 its the best £120  i have ever spent

Does your TDS meter adjust for temperature? If it doesn't, it might be worth getting a new one. Your TDS should remain 000 regardless of the temp.

Heat does increase the conductivity of the water and "amplify" the sensitivity of the older TDS meters which don't have temperature compensation,.. even so I'd double check your water,... leave some go cold and test it again, make sure the reading drops back down!

It has no actual use on your heater. However the benefits are;

you can heat the water in the tank- or raise it's temp if it's very cold.

You can get the flow going without anything coming out of the brush. This helps to diagnose and check problems, say for instance you are working on a house and the water stops, or the water goes cold. You would turn the tap off and walk back to the van to see why wouldn't you?
Well with a bypass, when you return to the van you can fiddle about with things such as varistream settings or check to see if auto ignite is working without useing the brush head tap, or continually walking back to it.

When you dead end your pole or change poles shouldn`t the unit shut off and then start up again when you plug in again on the L5 there is a pressure screw on the right hand side underneath,this can be adjusted for sensitivity of the ignition.It will heat up to 65 degrees or though the hotter you go the less flow you`ll get i`m told,how long do you think a gas bottle will last.

At some point you might like to put a bypass in, this is a feed(with a tap) back to the tank from the hot hose that goes to the reel.
