I'm not saying I do £40 ph all day long wfp anymore than I did £25 all day long on trad.
I was pointing out that on Monday when I went back to trad for the 4 hrs I worked I did £75; yet on the same estate today when able to work wfp I did £133 in the same length of time. These were both in "slow" conditions due to the weather,; it was a direct comparison for me.
This thread started with "Glad I'm not wfp" and a proposal to work spring/summer wfp and go trad in winter. My experience suggests this would be a most unwise move - and that's on speed alone, let alone other ameliorating factors.
With the right precautions (van kept warm overnight) I believe a "cold" wfp operator can work in zero degrees as long as he is prepared to salt or screenwash floors by entranceways. And if you blade the doors you can work in minus 1 or 2.
