Be safe and Be warm

And do the insides

Yes it is easier if you have commercial than domestic but you can still do it

By doing the insides for our clients they appreciate the customer service and are happy to pay their monthly acccount as they understand how difficult the weather situation makes thngs

How often do your clients have the insides cleaned, especialy the really difficult awkward roof velux or annex windows, they love it.

Inside conservatory roofs is another good one

Offer to do those awkward and occasional, time consuming, inside jobs that "get in our way" when the sun is shining and we are too busy

Jack of all trades never but there are always ways, safe ways, to keep working earning a few bob and most importantly spoiling our clients

I didn't work today.
I enjoyed sledging with the family.
But I would have worked hadn't I dodged the ECU on the quad trying to fit towbar elecrics.
All fixed now,(phew just needed resetting, not £1100 for a new one!)
So anybody can clean at -4 with an L5.
And anybody can get to the windows with a quad.

So why shouldn't we clean the windows if we can?
Custies have agreed to every 6 weeks & if you've invested in gear that lets you do that, then hey, this is professional!

And I don't wear a uniform. I wear a cowboy hat & jeans.

Kevin.

Ronnie...I just found Simbo's post refreshing as I felt he just shot from the hip and unloaded his truth which I agreed with, perhaps the directness made me smile and chuckle a bit.

But it very much sounded like the chewing out my g/f gave me over the weekend when I was in my 'feel sorry for me as I am not working mood' .  And upon reflection for me both my g/f and Simbo made sense.

Cheers
Dave.

Well sod that, I'm not going out and risking my van&Equipment. I spent the day with my wife and 4 month Daughter. I'm making most of this these months while my wife is on maternity leave. And i have got F... ALL in the Bank. Tomorrow i will be doing the same and watching England in the Cricket.
This is all making me feel better as i am not working, but feel i am motivated beyond anyone else here. When i do work the hammer will most certainly go down, and then we'll see who are men and who are boys.

A few have posted that they have bills to pay and i feel sorry for these. When we can work get a mate to help catch up and see if you can earn more.

Did any of you seee news this evening an old timer, Burt  cleaning windows in 9 in of snow.

He just got on with it, if he can do it so can you.

We have not missed one day due to the snow, admittedly we have  not got it as bad as some of you, but we just crack on regardless.

First thing we do is thaw everything out then get to work, if the water freezes on the brush, we use extention poles.

We had a complaint on Monday, went to investigate at 4.00pm and the water we put on the windows at 10.00 am was still there frozen solid on the pane.

That wasn't the complaint though, it was a tiny bird muck spot.

Some people, I don,t know

why do you feel you are motivated beyond anyone else here slump?

i would  say 99% of us would get out there and work if was remotely possible,

i got stuck in the van a couple of times today before giving it up to deliver leaflets instead.

but i dont feel good about myself for doing it, i felt peed off that i could not work in the usual way....but i certainly would not think bad of anyone who stayed at home in this weather.

So i dont think motivation is the key in this big freeze, hence people are lightheartedly commenting on how they are spending their extra days off,

Some are struggling financially and worrying about how to pay the bills and feed the family, ..also it may be hard for people to save all year for a weeks holiday, let alone put money aside for bad weather....i know in my case, some months i just about cover everything with nothing left to put aside.

I hope this weather changes very quickly for us all... but especially for the people struggling to keep their families going... straight after an expensive christmas.. which includes time off work, and now this big freeze forcing us to stay at home again.

Its tough at the moment.

my advice to people who are struggling with this cold snap, get online and fill out a credit card application, pay a few bills of with it, and pay it off in the next few months, no harm done

i await the " its a slippery slope down " posts, but needs must
