Interesting title, however it will be the pros and not the part timers who will get hit the hardest. The part timers will have their benefits to fall back on or their 'proper' job to carry on with. They will be back down the firestation this afternoon whilst us professional windys will be struggling.
Get out to work.Buy some salt and clear some driveways. This is what running a business is like. You have to think outside the box, its unbeleavble that many on this forum claim to be sitting at home watching TV or playing Xbox etc. when their is work to be done. Even if its spending the week phoning round getting more work.We have the easiest climate to work in - the rest of northern europe has colder and deeper snow every year. I am fed up with cannot cope Britain
I agree with a lot of what Matt has said. Far better to stay at home and wait till the weather improves.Yes there are those that will say 'That's all well and good but I've got bills to pay'Then perhaps a lesson has been learnt (albeit harshly) Try and have some funds available for next winter in case it happens again!

Its not a case of factoring the cost, how could you know what the cost would be? Its good to have back up funds but if you can't work and you turn over a little bit it soon mounts up to a high figure. All the other overheads don't stop because the weather is real bad. The weather will get better and things will go back to normal. just grit your teeth and bare it. Its all you can do really.Quotelol Can you get that “grit in handy pocket size bags”?(Triple Zero I’m not gritting or bearing anything )

If your insurance doesn't cover your new ventures then no amount of grit will stop you sliding into prison if someone decides to trip or slip on the grit you have put down
