I call all my custies to let them know we are coming the next day, i have a few i text. Its one thing that most of them comment on, saying its nice to know we are coming. Also, as most of them are not around when we clean, we pick up lots of extra work. I know lots of cleaners say, i dont waste my time calling, but for my business it works very well.

I don`t phone before i go to the job they will normally ring me a week before on a big job and we will confirm a day prior to cleaning,i hear a lot on here say they have to ring £5-10 jobs the night before but i have to say i would never do that.I say to them when taking them on in the past i will clean your windows and leave a slip saying i`ve been, if there`s any access issues i will give them the option to give me either keys to any gates or gate codes etc.If they were to say never clean my windows if i`m not in i would say i won`t be cleaning them then.

I have found while canvassing and picking up customers that customer service is an important part of building a customer relationship, having picked up quite a few customers recently because people dont like windows cleaners just turning up so to speak,I always say to customers I will phone or text a day or 2 before coming if required and say I will be coming in the morning or afternoon and try as be convenient to the customer as I can.

Running a window cleaning business this way is a nightmare,in order for them to get a call the job has to be worth it.
