Did one a few weeks ago one off job, one egg + one pane of glass = £35  ;D

Could work for free, but that would be stupid   ::)

would have been cheaper for the customer to put a new piece of glass in

Why does she need a new frame to have glass replaced? ??? So everyone who disagrees with your posts is "blunt"? What do you mean by that Ewan?.

I'm convinced you aren't a WC at all. I recon you are in loads of forums like decoraters weekly, Pilots forum, and Greengrocers united etc.

You never ask anything Ewan, just spout "advice" . Never give any anecdotes of your day etc. That's because you really work a forklift truck for Sainsbury's in the warehouse.

You can fool some of the people some of the time.................................

You have read a few "self help" books and try to come accross as the "man to ask", all you really leave as an impression, is that of Norris in corrie, the guy in the paper shop.

Give a man enough rope, you know the rest.

That's the sort of short meaningless answer I mean. Give me a clue, where do I find your website, or your entry in yellow pages or any other contact? What's your meaning with "blunt"? Why do you avoid answers? Why would the custy need new frames to change the glass? Why do you pretend to be a WC? ???

Because (the kindest way of putting it) he wants to be seen to be able to run before he can walk.

The knowledge of someone with 15 years knowledge when he's only got 2 is another way.

The experience of someone with 15 years experience when he's only got 2 is also another way.

2 years experience cleaning windows? Doubtful.

Cozy did you ever know Davo, he used to come on here and talk twaddle but admitted he wasnt a window cleaner.

How odd is that?

Perhaps Ewey is Davo's alter ego.

I don't know the guy you mean Matt, but nothing stranger than people. You have been in this game and on this site long enough to know how it all works.

I honestly believe Ewan is not a WC. Some people crave recognition, they will do really strange things to get it.

In Ewan's case though, it causes more damage than good. Guys come on here to get help and advice. Such posturing, that he does just makes other new guys feel that they are doing things wrong. That can damage their view of this way of earning a crust.

I honestly believe he is strange and in no way can he be a WC. He doesn't make sense ???

He has never said anything positive about 1 of his custies, that's strange.

Why do you avoid the answers Ewan? Anyone would think you have something to hide.

Where is your business? What do you do all day?

Why are you on this forum if you aren't a window cleaner?

As far as I am concerned I’m still relatively new to this game and still have plenty to learn my first job was for £5 my latest quotation I am still putting together is for a lot more, enough to give me my own doubts about doing it.    ;D

So you are new to this business or not? Are you a window cleaner?

You and few other people on here are just full of it.

*ahem* *cough* *cough* you need to take a look in the mirror before you make statements like that.

Your the one full of it, re-read Cozys observations about yourself, if you cant see that that is the case then you are blind to the truth, nipper.

And your point about other jobs being ??? .........cos that has nothing to do with your lack of expereince and know-it-all attitude.

Get back in your box, until your willing to listen  :-X :-X

By the way, why would you want to either edit or delete some of your first posts that would illustrate your lack of experience and time in the game?

I am a member on another forum, that is nothing to do with cleaning, it couldn't be further from it!!!

It seems on that forum that everyone has a tag line.

The one that made me think more than anything I have read for a long time is this ' I can see further by standing on the shoulders of giants'.

Now I take that to mean by utilising and using other peoples experience a much broader understanding can be achieved.

Have the forums not done this and made everyone instant knowalls. There is some complete dross posted on here by some who claim to be business people, who have no profile, no contact details and are only a name on a computer screen but the majority listen to the advice given. Even though it has no substance and it is clear they have no experience!!!

I am not sticking up for Ewan (again) but there are some truly stupid people on here, that don't know their head from their a$%e and Ewan could elaborate more on some of his replies but he is way from being the worst on here. If he is not a window cleaner, he doesn't need to be. The information has been given and is in the public domain, to make anyone a professional, in a faceless world.

My vote is to have complete profiles, I have looked into more than one profile over the last couple of days to find websites that don't exist, what's that all about?

It wont but if the people that claimed to have the businesses that are turning over £50.00 per hour, even when they are asleep, or if they even look at a property, really did earn that they would invest in a website and would be proud of their profile and would submit the information.

The pricing on here is such that there can be no excuse for not being in that position, a website is a window into your business and as vital a tool as the purified water!!

There will always be those that could be construed as 'Trolls' and they will never show their true colours but why do you let it get to you, why do you allow yourselves to be drawn into arguments, that rage on for days, why not ignore the posts- from the Trolls.

There are about 5 people on the forum that I will not post replies to, they wont know that, they might not want my experience and so either way it wont matter but what is posted is clear that they are beyond reasoning in the world I live in.

The forum started, I think, to offer advice to fellow window cleaners but in the time I have been on here it has become much more of a socialising space, with no real business focus. Those that are experienced industry leaders have left and taken a valuable resource and much experience with them. There is nothing wrong with this movement but when you dilute something enough times you end up with a very weak end product!!

Anyone with true business experience is often hounded and ridiculed to the point where they choose not to reply. I like the site and I like the characters on here, it is diverse and rarely dull  and that is why I stay. Would I share my risk assessments and method statements on here, no because they are ten steps ahead. I have seen the ones on various forums and they are like the ones I produced in the first six months of my business. My business grew!!!

I am not going to be drawn into a row on this or any other topic.

Good luck to all but choose the shoulders you stand on carefully!!

It's a forum for window cleaners, well this section is. Why would anyone want to go and try to give advice about something they know very little about?

How does that help anybody? It's not harmless fun giving advice that's at best, a guess.

Ewan has been talking about his website since march last year, it seems it's harder to find than MI5's.

"EWAN! the school bus is here, come on hurry up love"
Ewan is always in the middle of every argument on here regarding buisiness, the only time he back peddles is when he comes up against one of the big boys who own several vans and are sucesses in Ewans eyes. I'm 99% sure he was Davo in a previous life who finally admitted he had never cleaned windows and went very quiet as soon as 'Ewan' became more active. He was also another character with three letters something like 'lsd' and would come on and enable him to talk to himself.
There can't be many long term members who haven't fallen out with Ewan somewhere down the line. The best one I recall was the brilliant advice given for everyone to claim tax allowance on their sandwiches. That went on for days, great laugh that was.  ;D ;D ;D ;D
If you put these on every post  ;D ;D ;D ;D then it's ok to ridicule people on here and accuse them of being unprofessional and not understanding anything  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Damm it's still raining looks like the only entertainment will be ciu today. ::) ;D ;D ;D ;D
