These new super-duper lightweight brushes, how easily do they splay in comparison to a Salmon brush.

My introduction to wfp was with a vikan, which is quite stiff IMO, particularly compared to a Salmon, but how do these new brushes from Alex compare?

Im wondering if a Salmon splays too much, perhaps its the hot weather, but a vikan is too stiff.

The new brushes do splay very well, the dual trim particularly well at extreme heights. How they compare to a Salmon? I really cannot answer this as there are several Salmons on the market. The ones I have tried seem to splay all over the place and were hard to use.

I've used the dual trim, it splays a little better than the salmon, but it scrubs much much better and rinses on fantastic.  I'm really impressed with it.  I've got it on the slx with a swivel, a great combination.

Simon.

Im tempted to try one, probably go for the dual trim.

Okay, lets put it another way, how do they compare to a vikan for stiffness?

Also, Alex, can you fit a set of fans in there instead of pencils please?

Hi Alex
I used your new brush  for most of the day and it’s a great brush to work with, but as we have a hot water system, the clear pipe that you have supplied with it which connect to the brush is not a ideal pipe for hot water system, and kept popping out of the nosel, therefore I would suggest to use a more stronger pipe like the black ones which ionic use them for their poles.

Best regards

Bosh

I found that using Ionics 4mm pole hose was really slow getting a decent flow of water up the poles. I discarded the stuff and switched to high visibility 5mm streamline lite hose instead. Much better flow of water thus reducing time required cleaning.

Little tip if you don't like dual trim mono filament brushes because they splay too much for personal liking.....cut the longer, outer trim bristles to the same lenght as the inner bristles and you then have a single trim mono brush which just sits against the glass, instead of splaying. The shorter the bristles, the harder it becomes and the better it scrubs, but the more it bounces across partitioned glass ;)

Thinking of doing that with my Salmon.

I hope you got them holes parallel Alex?

Kirsty was very nice to talk to today, very sympathetic re: hospital, can you tell her thankyou, I tried but I was getting concerned she was mis-interpreting my grunts and dribbling down the phone (anasthetic has that effect you know) as something else apart from someone in surgical pain  ;)

Well, i now have a single trim and a dual trim. The single holds far more dirt than the dual which is only to be expected but works fine. You can hear the bristles zinging along the frames. I haven't managed to lose any bristles yet like you do with a Bentley or an Addis so hopefully it will turn out to be a very hard wearing brush. (they better be 'cos i'm not shelling out £80 for a pair in a hurry again). The best thing of course is the lack of weight, they really give your wrists a rest and with an SLX make everything very comfortable and precise.

Well, this brush that I ordered arrived today, forcing me therefore to work this afternoon  ;D

Pleasantly pleased with it. Wonderfully light, barely know its up there, although I usually use a Salmon which I believe are quite heavy as brushes go (?). The bristles splayed nicely, seeming to reach into all the corners and crevices,  but I was most impressed with the fact that the bristles retain their shape so well.

Nice brush.

Now I have a predicament. I love my Salmon, mostly as the auto-brush from Mr Fogwill fits into my work ethos just great. But, I used this new Gardiner brush on a pole with a flow-valve located at the base of the pole, problems problems..... ;D

btw Alex, those nozzles were perfect. Loved them, well and truly lined up too.

Can you tell me Alex, what nozzles they are and do you stock them as spares?

That was a fluke then.

We do stock the nozzles as spares but only for special clients.  You can ring the Office when you want them.

 ;D

I'll order some whatever, thanks bud.
