Just a quick update on the single trim brush : I've been using it for a week now and i've come to the conclusion that it must be good because i've forgotten all about it! I just clean all day and come home. Haven't lost a bristle. Haven't had any problems- just a quality tool that i forgot i had!
I have a filthy commercial job tomorrow so i'll try to concentrate a bit more.

I've had mine less than a week. I also have the dual trim version. I have been using them both with hot wfp. The dual trim brush is excellent but the single trim versions bristles are all starting to lean over and they are interfering with the jets  :(

The bristles are much tighter around the jet hole on the single trim version, it may benefit to trim them a little around the jet hole as you are using hot water. Out of interest how are you finding them with hot water? What is the water temperature at the brush? apart from the bristle getting in the way of the jets on the single trim how are they standing up to it?

We did not specifically develop the brushes for hot water applications, but it is interesting to see how they will last. I did test the bristles in 100 degrees water and they did deform slightly, but generally hot water systems do not run at this sort of temperature!

Hi Matt

I've spoken to the supplier and they are looking into whether they can get a small amount of the different nozzles from the manufacturer.  They should be getting back to me on Monday.

Hi Alex,

I am running at 52 degrees C at the brush head. The bristles dont seem any different when using hot or cold. The bristles (after a few days) are all leaning towards each end of the brush, and the very tips are in the stream. As you said the extra space around the jets and the shorter bristles on the dual trim stop this so for me I prefer the dual trim.

I am also concerned about longevity of this brush as it looks hammered and I have only used it for a few days. I feel that this brush is expensive for what it is considering I dont think its going to last very long, I have Vikans that are over a year old and still going strong, however the bristles on a vikan are too hard IMO.

The dual trim I have used everyday for a week longer and its fine!  I know they are the same bristles but maybe the shorter length of the inside bristles makes it stronger. I wold like to see a few more inside bristles for added scrubbing power and also to give the outer bristles some support. The dual trim is my favorite brush but the single trim isn't in the same league IMO.

Having said all that well done for producing a good and light brush. I think it is ideally suited to the SL2. The dual trim could be used everyday, But the single trim is not up to everyday work IMO.

I hope that helps Alex?

Kev  ;)

Thanks for that Kev. I was interested in how they would stand up to hot water use. Could you keep me updated on your progress with them.

The single trim brush wins against the dual hands down,no comparison.

Interesting to see other peoples opinion, at the moment mine is that the single trim is better as an every day brush.

Have you ever liked a dual trim brush including Gardiners brush or do you just prefer single trim brushes generally?

My single trim brush is not at all well. The bristles are in a permanently splayed position and I have had to remove some bristles to allow the jets to work. My double trim brush is fine, been used on the Sl2 with hot water the same as the single trim. The single is being used on the ground floor only ant the double trim everything above. Obviously the single trim is subject to a bit more pressure being applied but I will be surprised if it makes it past the end of the week. I have five large schools on this week so this really is a hard test for the brushes. Its destined for the bin by the looks of it!  :(

Sounds pretty dire! Has anyone else been using the single trim with hot water? I would be interested in whether this is a one off or if indeed it cannot cope with hot water use. Keep me updated Kevin as to it's future progress.

i have been using mine on really dirty commercial work with cold water and the bristles are all splayed constantly , i have been applying a lot of pressure on brush to move the dirt but i dont think it is up to this kind of work but probably good enough for maintenance cleans.
i think it needs a lot more bristles and they need to be flocked.
better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove any doubt

I have to say i used 1 today and have my first complaint ever using the pole, they just don`t clean well enough in my opinion.I don`t think there`s anywhere near enough bristles and there not stiff enough, normally these windows come up spotless but there were brush lines everywhere, they perform exactly the same as the bentley brush.

I find them very very good to throw around the window, due to their lightness.

However, Im beginning to feel inclined that maybe they dont have enough bristles (if there were more bristles there would be more stiffness I'd imagine with the same length of bristle).

Slightly concerned after using it for some time also that maybe on occassions they do leave brush lines. I certainly wouldnt use it on a first clean.
