They are more than ok, for £15 they are fantastic!!! I liked the look of the shorter ones as well, but I prefer to use the same pole for ups and downs!

so do I thats why I didn't buy either  :-\

Whilst in B&Q today I looked for the stanley swivel pad that Dai posted a photo of, but I couldn't find one anywhere!! Does anyone know what section they are kept in? I thought they would be in the decorating section but couldn't see them?  ???

Thanks.  :)

:o I cant understand why people are buying the Stanley pad when Harris do one which is obviously the right fit!  :-[

Is the stanley better somehow?  :P
Do I have to go back again and check it out? >:(

I didn't realise that harris did a swivel pad, thanks for that I will check it out. The only one I could find was a stanley which swiveled up and down, but not sideways like the one in Dai's photos. :-\

If anyones still interested in my Harris pole I have uploaded 3 short videos to youtube, again not sure how to do a link. The first one shows me using the harris pole clampless, the second shows me using my extended 22ft harris pole on a 3 storey townhouse.
The last one is just a close up of how the extension works.
Just go onto youtube and type in the following;

Groundhog, they do swivel up and down, if you look at the photo you will see a small screw, you take out this screw and the handle pulls off. You need to turn it 90 degrees
They have changed the design a bit from the first one I made.
When you remove the handle you will see two little prongs sticking out of the swivel, cut these off, you will notice that the swivel part has two flat sides, you have to surform, or file flats on the other side before you can fit the handle back at 90 degrees. It may sound complicated but it's a 5 min job.
Once the handle is fitted back on at 90 degrees, it swivels the way we want it too.
Before you can put the screw back in, you need to drill a small hole for it to screw into.
The out side hole on the handle is already there, just need the small hole for it to screw into.
It fits onto the Harris cone, most cones are standard

Glad to have been of help Paul, thats why I have been promoting this pole, in the hope of helping some of the members of this forum, although most of the credit must go to Dai who was the first person on here to convert a harris pole, and explain how it is done.

I also bought a Harris pole today, 2 in fact, and I have converted one of them into a 22.5ft pole!! so this will be capable of cleaning up to the 3rd floor, so I will be using it on my townhouses that I do this week, I will post another video to show how I get on. The harris pole can now really compete with the slx and other expensive poles!!!

Come on slx users, lets have a video!!!! (wear a hat and sunglasses if your that shy!!!!) ;D

So would it be relativley easy to convert to a 22ft pole as this looks a serious proposition.

So would it be relativley easy to convert to a 22ft pole as this looks a serious proposition.

It's very easy to do, you simply insert a 6ft length of unger number1 pole, or a similar type of pole into the end of the harris pole. I have used the spring clips from a couple of unger end adaptors, (the green bits you put your squeegee onto) to clamp it in place, you need to drill 2 holes about 6inches from either end of the unger pole, so that it can be held in place either extended or retracted, with the unger clips.

I'm not sure that I have explained this very well! If anyones interested I will do another video showing how it is done in a bit more detail.  :)

Graham,   sounds much better than Hoggy  ;D ;D ;D

when you use it as a clampless, How do you have your clamps?? Just loose any old how, just tight enough to hold the pole up? or is there anything else I should know about, I don't want to spend the rest of the week in hospital with a fractured skull  ;D ;D
