I'm now starting a revenge mission on the trashbin cleaning company who pinched a few off us because of their cheap prices. Trouble is the cheap means it's a cheap job, so picked up a customer off them by giving a demo on a window of her choice and doing it right. Oh and this is going to cost her £22 not the £17 they were charging.

Expensive yes but pleasing the customer.

I bought the best pole for the job, I bought it for usability not the quality, 6 ft sections are a nust at 60 ft.

As far as i am aware the excell is the only 60ft modular pole with 6 ft sections.

Its no fun having to drop a 60ft pole to the ground to adjust the height.

I charge good money so i can afford to buy the best for my business and make a living as well

I don't offer a  "cheap...and I'll do a crap job because I'm cheap...so what did you expect?"...service.

I do a good job...charge sensible prices, earn a decent living...I'm happy...customer is happy...!

It`s great getting loads of work when your under cutting and under charging until you`ve got work coming out of your ears and you then realise what an idiot you`ve been,if your getting everything your pricing and quoting for your doing something wrong,every 10 jobs i quote for i only get 5 if i`m lucky.

Asda and waitrose both sell Heinz baked beans for roughly the same price, the difference is you can buy everyday value beans for less than half the price.

Means 1/2 the time you're overquoting. Which is fine, except that with the 5 you do get you're running the risk of being undercut eventually by the person you lost out to on the 5 you didn't get...if you follow

I dont know , you brought the beans up, just trying to say the beans are the same price aprt from the no frills you can get from ASDA.

Only 2 things in life are guaranteed, death & paying taxes. No customer is a guaranteed loyal account at any price. I'd rather have 5 uncertain customers at a sensible price than 10 customers at a low, run of the mill price.

I`ve got work coming out of my ears so if this ever started to happen i would know what to do,you have to take into consideration wet weather holidays etc when you break it down your 12-£15 job in reality is a few quid if your lucky.I`ve said it before it`s easy pickings building a average round,quality work requires time and common sense and a knack of selling yourself.Get those 2 right and the work will follow,if any job comes in under a certain amount i pass it on to someone starting out,like i said i don`t need the work so why even consider taking it on,i read the other day it`s all to easy to be a busy fool and how true that is.
