haha good post.

I have quoted and not got certain properties because i was too cheap. (or the existing wc was reassuringly expensive??)

I think the large property owners have incredibly high running costs anyway and will therefore pay top dollar for a window cleaner who makes them feel 'reassured.'  :)

A customer i picked up yesterday said i looked very familiar, i told her she had probably seen me on crimewatch a few times. She didn't see the joke at first.  :o

I went to quote for a large house today, just south of Usk; a large place which you can't see from the road; you turn left between some fancy gates and proceed up a long drive.

The owner told me he has 31 windows, but I don't think he can count, 'cos I made it closer to 40; no-one was in, so I phoned the owner.

I quoted £57.00, as that seemed reasonable given the travelling and miles of narrow country lanes my Navman took me through to get there.

He said his wife has got a cheaper quote (Squeaky must've beaten me to it  ;)), so I said, 'Please remember we carry public liability insurance, and we do a top job'.

He said he may phone us back.   >:(

Still, I had a good day today, cleaning well priced 'drive betweens'.  Those are definately the way ahead.  And if I'd went any cheaper, that'd spoil what was already a good day; since that job may have worked out cheaper than the other accounts I did.

I much prefer to charge well, and provide a good service; than charge average and provide an average service.
