Was going to say same......mine's left in garage and just got enough hose to reach outside tap, drain and van inlet.

The reason why is due to the float switch. The cable to the float switch from the solenoid valve isn't very long. It also carries a low voltage. The longer the cable the lower the voltage drop in the cable.

Really? Sod that. I can look at my tank and know pretty much to 10 minutes accuracy how long it’s going to take to fill up. Couldn’t be bothered wheeling the RO to the van just incase of overfilling.

I just plug hose in, turn water on, hey siri set alarm for 90 minutes, away it goes.

No room in the garage. It's a workshop for curtain tracks,pelmets and other stuff for missus business. This is the best solution for me. There's room for a little metal shed that we are building tomorrow at side of garage to house the RO in. Gonna insulate it and I'll be able to run a cable for a heater on very cold nights.

The only thing is I'll have to cover RO with a large umbrella when filling van up after work on a rainy day.👍

That looks real good mate, and them wheels look really sturdy. So you just wheel this out, plug the hoses in and then a few hours later its filled up your 500 litre tank ? I think thats pretty impressive. Well done.

Another thing dazmond needs to be cautious of is not to let the water drain out of the r/o when he is finished filling his van.

The waste water drains out of the RO bottom hose and the other hose goes into my small DI then into my tank(pure). Obviously they both have to have no water in the hose dripping out when I'm putting it away after filling up. Will this dry up the membrane or will it be OK?

Also as soon as the float valve activates(or I unplug  the power)the water stops running through the system. This will surely not dry up the membrane will it?

No it will be fine it would take weeks for the membrane todry out as it’s basically enclosed with little air getting into it

I would fit an on/off valve inline on the pipes from the RO to stop water draining from it when not in use, to keep the membranes fully enclosed in water.

Why ? They will remain damp for weeks hardly any air can get in them to dry them out

Very happy with this at the moment. It's taking around 4 hours to purify around  400-450L due to low water pressure(34 on the gauge).

Float switch works like a dream and shuts off at the neck of my tank hole.🙂👍

I can't remember who it was who gave me a good tip(to disconnect from DI vessel for the first couple of mins after turning on). Thanks mate as my tds was 102 out of the RO then falling to 009 after a min or 2 when I first switched it on. I also flushed for 10 mins first as I've not used the RO for 5 days.

I would buy a big chain so I could chain it up when in there just in case. That's a 2 grand bit of equipment and it could easily go missing. Got to make it as hard as possible if anyone wants to pinch it.

I have some scaffold stored in my back garden and bought plenty of chains and expensive padlocks. I just chain them up to each group of different scaffold so someone can't just remove a piece. If benefits get cut and folk get desperate we will witness a rise in theft. The AGR frames are over £300 and they now fold in half only 8Kgs in weight so easy to walk away with. I have paid a grand for a 24hr camera with audio but if they even wear a mask it won't hold up in court. Got told that when I was a prison officer after the riots.

I used to think this would save resin & I still use this method although I have JG tee pieces & taps to divert rather than disconnect hoses.

I do think however, that in my case & in the grand scheme of filling a 1000 litre ibc tank for six hours or so, that 60 to 90 seconds of high tds isn't going to make much difference. But like I say, I do still use that method unless I'm on holiday, in which case the RO is left switched on permanent with it's auto cut off booster & float valve as I wouldn't trust my employee with it as he knows nothing about pure water production.

Mobile RO system works great. I'm very happy with it. Float valve kicks in and shuts everything off after 4 hours.(my tank was virtually empty so around 460L purified in that time)

My water pressure is 34 on RO gauge but drops to 25 when running a bath.
