They failed. The key to it was that the original deal offered was "free business banking forever" (within certain parameters). The argument was that the word "forever" superceded any changes in T & Cs. e.g. if they had offered "free banking", it is just about accepted that they might withdraw that at a future date. By adding "forever", that was an inducement that got them a lot of customers.Am I right in saying the Santander is a business account? So you can have your business name etc? A lot of people send me cheques to my business name so I need that.I'm currently with rbs business, as im in the 2 year free period, but in a few months I'll we start being charged £30 a month. So you can deposit cash in, pay cheques in, and customers can pay bacs in, all for just £7.50 a month?Wow.Think I might be switching if that's the case.

Yes, the account is in the business name but they're pretty flexible accepting cheques paid in. I get cheques with 'window cleaner' as the payee! or my name or company name. Only ever get them sent back if they're not dated.
I was with RBS and went with scamtander, you know 'cause it's free an' that. You get what you pay for.I'm back with RBS.
Scamtander decided to pay the lads double, told me it was their mistake, then had a change of heart a month or so later and decided I needed to get the money back off them. Not impressed.I pay flat rate at RBS.
