If you have to use a ladder on decking, its always better to lay an old scrim on the decking first, then put your ladder on the scrim. This helps to stop ladder slipping.

If you choose to use a ladder on decking, its always better to get your head examined to help you ensure you never do it again.

I used to do the old scrim under the feet trick, glad I don't have to anymore though. I lost a deckinh job the other week due to going wfp. I tried to point out that the decking was a prime example of where a ladder should not be used to which but she didn't seem to care!

Good luck to your uncle, hope he makes a quick recovery and he can enjoy Xmas.

It 'helps'? Personally, I'd need things a little more safer than just 'helps'.

In some ways I can understand the reason for having courses for the safe use of ladders although ultimately, there is still always a risk.

Dotty, I hope your Uncle makes a full recovery.
