I know,I personally don't bother to clean in rain as I don't have many customers yet,but when its forecast sunny for most of the day ,its annoying and I feel I need to let her know that's a poor excuse lol.

It's difficult, have you cleaned em long?

I use too get wound up but haven't got the energy anymore.

Someone on here said the answer is always get more custies, the more you have the less there comments bother you when you have too much work, give em 3 strikes and your out.

If your really p'd off and can't contain yourself, try and tell em as polite as possible you can't work that way.

To be honest if i'm that annoyed i just don't go back and don't bother to tell why, if the custie is fairly decent they usually get in touch curious to know why you haven't been; that's when I tell em politely why.

But that's if they've mucked me about a few times.
Goodluck ;)

Just tell her that when you took her on as a regular customer that means you come rain or shine so you can be regular and that its tomorrow or nothing as weather does not matter you are still cleaning the dirt off.
If you loose her, good as you dont need people like her

have you thought of a "welcome new customer",info pack/leaflet
you could design it to emphasise
the price is based on a monthly clean,
you clean in light to medium rain(explain why)
if you do miss then the next clean is 50% more(optional?)
etc etc

if the customer then does what this one has done then i would take the view they are more of a "price" client rather than a "service" client they are not bothered if they dont get cleaned for the next 6 months...........i would just not go back
does your business suit the clients or do they suit your business

Well I'm not,I hate it when there in and watch me clean and I end up waiting 2/4 weeks for payment as they don't like removing money from pocket at the time,so as a result a least a positive from my business 95% all pay whithin 7 days .

NOW THATS SOMETHING DIFFERENT!!! And my number 1 bugbear about this job. When the customer is home and then decides to go out without attempting to make payment!  >:(

The 7 days grace I give to make payment is for when I clean and no one is home, If a customer is home I expect them to make payment. Saying that it hardly ever happens but really winds me up when it does!

No I dont let them know when im coming and fair enough if they are running late for an appointment or whatever, but anyone can write a cheque in 2 mins flat.

I dont mind if they ask if its ok to forward a cheque, im talking about jumping in the motor and driving off without a word about payment..which again is slightly different i suppose

Give em the rain guarantee talk, ive never understood the mentality of doing them only when its dry,its always gonna rain again.
We all need to start working in the light to medium rain [wfp] to get rid of this stupid idea that you cant clean windows in the rain,if they protest to me i explain why it still works, most are ok with it ,if theyre not i just move on to the next one.You have to get out and earn a living.
They  all got quoted a once a month price, not a when it suits them price.
I know its easier to say all this when you got enough custies [i have] but to be honest in 6 years i only had one cancel and that was because i did them just before it rained, what a waster better off without some of them.
