to be honest if I wasnt a wc and was paying someone to clean for me I probably would'nt want them done when its raining, ignorant ? well yes but they are not wc's its not their job or livelyhood so why should they care ? would you ?
anyway I have a rain guarentee............................I clean the windows and it will rain usually within 1-5 days (or 1-5 hours now its british summer time)
I would not mind mate, as I honestly see no difference rain or shine, so I can stand by what I say, I have total confidence in cleaning in the rain, I guess thats why people believe it when they speak to me
sorry Ian only just read what your response was to the customer, should have done that first, as you can probably gather my comment on a rain guarentee was just having a laugh.
I dont however clean a customers windows in anything more than drizzle , you may not mind because you know how the system works, credit to you for explaining to them and winning them over.
I still hold by my opinion though that most would not like their windows cleaned if it was actually raining, people are old fashioned like that. Even knowing what I know as a wc if someone was to be wfp'ling my house in the rain I'd be reckoning on them doing a sub standard job quickly to avoid getting any wetter than they needed to especially if they were an employee,
Not suggesting that you would do anything of the kind, you sound far too proffessional
Simon
Simon, I do not try to win them over I just explain the facts to them, and it explains itself, I clean hunderds on people homes in the rain, and my work is canvassed/ marketed against all the time. we clean the same in the rain or the sun (it really and honestly makes no difference) my guys know if they do poor work they clean it again in thier time not mine so substandard work is not an issue for me. complaints by customer are alwasy sorted asap, happy customers makes me money long term.
I am not trying to change your opinion at all by the way, but from what I do daily I do not get complaints, and if I do I rectify them straight away and infrom the customer which keeps them happy.
This issue arised from a canvassed customer not being explained to in the manner I do.
Where you say people are old fashioned like that I am totally again with you, but if you educate people in to what is the truth, there is no reason not to clean them, that old fashioned view is coming to an end, it started many many years ago with trad cleaning and rats, which we don't do anymore, with wfp we dont get the problems that the older generation used to, ask Ian Lancaster he may have been doing it at this time the problem started (not saying hes old but at the same time hes been about a very long time. Things change, as do we need to.
I am not trying to say work in the rain to anyone, if you work in drizzle that cool it is nothing to do with me, but I will say this, I rarely get complaints, I do offer good customer services always have, and the way are weather is not working in the rain will be costing you or anyone a serious amount of money over the year, try it and see, but dont take the first knock back people are adverse to change but when explained correctly this is totally do able.
Cheers for you reply Simon, I like your honesty, i hope I explained myself ok
