The innovation coming out of the group already is brill!

well, judging by the way you decribed unger's amazing new wfp was market-changing (LOL!), i'll take this with a very large pinch of salt.

That was a line from their press release.

To be taken seriously any magazine has to be indepenent and form its own opinions not just pass on press releases....

We have opinions and I write a lot of stuff, you just have not read it :)

We are a form of press??? A press release says what it is on the tin? lol

A magazine does not have to be anything but inform.

Lee all I said was in order for it to be taken seriously it should be indepentent and form its own opinions, if all you are going to do is send out press releases you are nothing more than a newsletter....

My original point was that you shouldnt try to kid or entice people into something, if it does get hostile towards you its because people want your opinions on here sometimes rather than boosting your own website or blog views....

On the final point of ciu, it may only be a small part of what you do but you shouldnt belittle it or its members.....

show me where I have belittled. This is just your opinion, which I respect.

Your points have been noted  ;D

If you check the topics I regularly contribute my opinions regularly and my experiences. I am sorry your not a fan. You can't win them all.

I don't accept all you have said  ;D

Which bits do you accept then lol?

Lee its nothing personal as I think you have done a great job with the magazine to get it this far, I would be looking at generating some revenue rather than funding it all yourself...it does tend to make it look like an ego project if it cant be self supporting....

I'm sure you're getting bored with this, Lee, but once again you're telling us what you get straight from manufacturers with no intervening analysis on your behalf.

I also know that my saying this makes you fly into a rage for some reason and to go wildly defensive, but it's true.  I'm afraid that if a manufacturer says to you "this is new" you seem to believe it (and spread it round) without any reservations.

As I say, I do know this will result in a defensive diatribe like the ones you've fired off at me in the past, probably accusing me of being negative or telling me that I need to relax and chill out (your habitual responses).  That's all well and good but your magazine might become a better product if you noticed that the majority of comment on your posts is along these lines, so there may be something in what we are saying; it may be something you want to change.

Vin
Hey Vin - no problem.... its only a few that post like this. Others are just happy to read or not. No sweat  ;D

When I've asked a genuine question in the past you've flown off the handle or simply not answered it, so please do try not to overreact to this, which is a genuine question.

Do you believe that analysis before posting PR might improve your magazine?

Vin

Hi Vin - no problem. Sometimes it is the way you approach somebody that dictates a reception. I am glad to see you come a cross in a less hostile manner.

Yes and no is the answer really. How would you improve the magazine?

Sorry, that response is just too patronising for words.  Thank you for your blessing on my style of posting; I really am not worthy.

Bear in mind that the way you read something might dictate whther you see it as hostile. Your reactions to any criticism, real or imagined, make that clear.

Tell you what, run it how you feel.  Keep reprinting the PR; you'll go far.

Vin

Cheers buddy, yeah I saw you on our subscription list. Money at this moment in time does not interest me. I have a passion for the magazine. It only looks ego because I got to promo the mag to tell people who do not know it is here.
Thanks anyway, matey.... I know you were trying to help  ;)

Can anyone advertise for free then lol?

For one manufacturer to take advantage off, its just a focus group....

Which to be honest is no bad thing as could help get the products you need but its hardly some great secret society lol....

Its a bad thing i think. By making it a secret group, psychology makes you wanna join and look and become involved, once you are then you're apart of it and maybe inclined to buy the product you've 'helped develop'. To me its a cynical marketing ploy. The real leaders clean windows, listen to window cleaners and design/come up with the products for them.
Lee tells us his mag is for window cleaners, independant etc..then defends the use of a PR release with no analyasis as .....i'm just passing on the PR. Well thanks for that , we can and do all get that bumf already.
Lee tells us the mag is his baby and he wants it to be this and that........when questioned he says...why so personal ?
I think Lee has a view to creating a great window cleaning mag that showcases all the latest products, developments etc.. Something that any internet savvy window cleaner already has access to, via suppliers websites, cleaning forums etc.. Great online mag, as a paper version its probably a no goer due to cost, as for what the majority of forum users get from it then i'd say hardly any groundbreaking news. But its presented nice and looks well enough, going no where though.
I would also doubt Lee's sincerity about getting stuff out to the masses as it was only at the release of his online mag that he became involved in any online discussion. And even thats hard to get out of him. There ya go !!

Parts of that was completely false and misleading.
