Blame the last government who opened the doors to them, not the people who want to work for a better life for their families?

Work or "SCROUNGE" two different things!!!

Interesting to say the least!!
We employ 3 Poles, a husband and wife and one other. We also employ several English lads.
The people we have are very good; never late no unplanned for days off, no real moans. it helps I guess that my missus comes from Poland and I speak a tiny bit of the lingo so there are no communication probs. We did try and get local people first but it was a bit of a nightmare', the moneys ok £10/£12 ph with bonus, but a lot of locals think they should get that for turning up!! I know that there are good and bad in all races but if someone wants to get of their ass and travel over 1000 miles to find work they probably have the right attitude.
ps The poles who work for us do not claim a penny off of the government for anything, everything they have they pay for themselves.
pps I lso realise not all areas are the same

I am polish.
I'd like to make an apology for all that poles who came there and behave like pigs released from the cowshed.
Most decent poles do well back home, and theres no need for them to emigrate, so plenty of us here in UK is unfortunately scum. Sad but true.
Correction: ' coorver ' doesn't mean 'bitch' . in 95% cases it means the same as ' f*ck! or oh sh*t ! "'. It means 'bitch' in certain situations only.
Just saying so it could help with missunderstundings in future ( like one might think them polish numptys just called him 'bitch' in their weird language :D )

Good night.

You should see more of the life around the world. You can't judge everything on your own little experience...

rather than blaming the polish or any other nationality that comes over here to work

maybe the finger should be pointed at the employer who is looking to employ
as much as he can cheap labour.

as for the polish being good workers i imagine they are like any nationality
english included where there is good, bad and indifferent.

i can only imagine a preference for a polish  worker over a english one would
be cost

fairplay to you...but there are plenty of employers who set salaries knowing
only foreign nationals cheap labour will take especially when new to this country

Maybe thats why the people who work for us have all been here a long time, treat people fairly and they will normally do the same to you. There will always be the odd 'bad apple' but you can't let one person cloud your judgement of everyone else

Someone early on this thread said something about racist and nationalistic comments being the result of lazy thinking and I agree.

I have one excellent English employee (OK, I think he has a paternal Italian great grandparent going by his surname! But then I've a grandparent born in Wales; oh the shame!  ;D)

In a previous life I have employed or been in business with a Polish lady, a Black Englishman, two Welshmen and several Englishmen and women.

I have three East European tenants who pay on the nail and who (at point of checking last April) have "proper jobs" (tax insurance etc) as warehouse operatives/clerks in Avonmouth. The house is kept spotless.

The only two employees I have ever sacked for misconduct (theft) and (fraud) were white english but I think that statistically having over the years employed about twenty different people the vast majority of whom were white English then that was just the way the numbers fell.

I know it is boring but as always I say each person should be judged on his/her own merits - not their country of birth or their race.
It's a game of three halves!

Hi all.I'm from eastern europe and i think i'm doing ok.i've been a window cleaner for 5 years now and started carpet cleaning too about 3 years.i have a around 500 happy customers who appreciate me because i'm reliable ,honest and friendly.i have picked many jobs from english window cleaners over the years(i'm  the only foreigner from what i know) and i can honestly say i'm more expensive than most of them and i think my prices aren't high but fair.
i started on my own from scratch and didn't steal any work/customers from anyone.
sometimes i can understand your pain over the foreigners but we picked the jobs you didn't want to do anymore and allowed us to progress.
anyway i'm off to pick the keys for my new home .very excited ..
