Caine does have a point and when it comes down to it we only do it for the money and spend time maintaning windows for years for a new comer to under cut and then realize they cant earn money and you get the senerio of my last window cleaner charged a fiver and you know the job is worth a tenner. When i started out on my own I was careful not to take other guys work and I have even traded work  with existing guys,we all would like good compact work and there is no point doing one house in a street when the other guy has 20 and your wondering whether next time its going to blow up into a row.You can network with other local guys and one of their customers may have a contact in your area.So it is always good to keep on good terms with other W/C,But like they say you cant get on with everyone.

funny how all the moralistic ones have there opinions on this. where i come from window cleaners are spouting up everyday and taking work off lads who have been doing it for years. most of the time paying no taxes and claiming benefits while people like myself work hard and pay for them. in short i agree with a little word in some peoples ears. lets see if you have the same opinion when YOUR losing work.

Funny old world isn't it. Where i come from we're seeing a lot of legit newcomers, or long standing cleaners expanding their business at the expense of the people who have done it for years paying no taxes. Either way, as you've no doubt noticed your market is either being opened up to or exposed to more suppliers. Your tactic is to haver a word in someones ear? That'll only work for so long, i hope you gotta better business plan than that other wise your companys long standing of 60 years might not be standing for another 60 yearsif thats all its got to rely on to retain its business.
