I've been asked to quote on cleaning two blocks of flats on a new development. Four floors (ground + 3), although the back of the site slopes away so realistically it will be 5 floors on one side of them. There are a number of "Juliet" balconies and proper balconies on the buildings. We've been told by the management company that we need to clean just the balcony glass/plastic and not the doors behind them. We also have to clean the inside of the communal stairwells, which, of course, have been designed without any thought as to how they'll be cleaned...
So I have a couple of questions:
We'll need a 50'+ brush for the top floor. It will be used for 2 hours every 2 months so I'm reluctant to flash out the best part of £1000 on one, but if it means getting this contract I guess I'll have to. What would you recommend? And where would you get it from? Or does anyone in the Cheltenham/Gloucester area have one they would rent to me?
To clean the stairwell glass will be a real faff, I think we'll need to use one of the Vikan internal glazing kits with an extension pole, as there is access on each floor. They can't be cleaned from the ground as the sills are to big... Does anyone have any experience of using one of these things? I'm not expecting to be able to do a brilliant job on these windows, but hey I didn't design them to be uncleanable so take it up with the architects!
Thoughts please, gentlefolks!
