IONICS GLYDER POLE
« on: February 09, 2010, 02:51:44 pm »
Got a good use out of my new Ionics Glyder pole today on a 3 monthly contract clean on several blocks of flats.

I must say I was really impressed with the ease and lightness and versitility of it and it made the job a doddle.

the w/c who I did the work with uses an Ionic 35 ft carbon fibre pole but tried the Glyder for half hour and was sold on it and even ordered it today.

at 28 ft I can now clean 3 story buildings using just one pole,   I know some on here say Ionics are too expensive but they do make quality stuff and this pole will defo earn its keep

you maybe right,     still feels really light though,  although I'm 6 ft 6  and 19 stone and used to using a 60 ft pole alot so it would feel really light  ;D

I have a glyder and stephen is right, its a great piece of kit.

According to their website, it weighs 2.61kg including the brush head:

It isnt cheap, but from using it so far I think it will last long enough to justify the outlay.

It all depends on what you`ve been using or are used to using,to me that pole is very heavy due to me using SL2 in the past and SLX type poles both are so much lighter to use although the Glyder pole is more robust.

That pole is well over 6ft closed with or without brush.

I`ve used 1 before briefly from a fellow WC and it was more like 7ft closed and heavy i thought.

To be honest the closed length means nothing to me if i really liked the pole i would buy 1 and cut it down slightly to suit me,if they did a 30ft 1 i`d cut it down to 5ft closed and you would still have a good 25ft pole.It is very robust and would last made the way that it is so it would be worth it to me.

Thought so the 5ft claim didn’t add up, 24ft pole 5 section, so is it closer to 6’ft6”inch when closed with brush attached?

On the video it looks it could be to long for a lot of ground floor work.

?? Well use the right pole for the right job. More Ionics knocking me thinks

Have you just picked one up and tested like me or used one day to day ? this is the reason I will not comment as only held one and not used it all day, not got a clue on the ware of the pole but would be very interested to know the answers
