When PureFreedom fitted my tank for 1K it included controller and pump fitted as well (what are they £200 together?) there would have been something I guess for the panel theyre fitted to I guess on top of the cage. Pipe-work and fitting I guess and external port outlet.

Are they just not having a website then? I need to speak to a tank manufacturer soon.
I have been on thier website a couple of time this morning looking at pictures of examples of van tanks and also spoke to the guy on the phone.

www.plasticwatertanks.co.uk
tel. 01616 266080
mob. 07774 495220

(He did ask who told me he had gone bust though - just tell him you are not THE Matt Bateman))

They have just called me back this afternoon. Said they can now do it for £800......still way over the top. Gonna have a chat with a mate of mine who does cars up. I'm sure he will do the same job as Purefreedom and all for a few mucky beers.

I doubt he would mate, they use engineers to fit the cage and assemble the cage. try getting a mig welder to make you a cage for less than £500.
plus if they fit it and something happens then they are liable if your mate does it and something happens you wont get anything.

Very true Matt, not everyone appreciates over heads, im guessing the 200 was for baffled tank, then with a cage added and fitted the cost has to go up.

If a window cleaner had a £10.00 semi (windows only) and the customer asked for the large victorian conservotry to be cleaned in/out aswell, would this be within the price?

Suppliers have to make a living too!

Hi Matt,    I only have sealed batteries as stock items, as cant send wet batteries in post, and prob would not sell many at trade counter, best place is the lucas ebay shop.

You must be busy, as i never see you on here lately.

If they offer a fitting service and you have the receipt for that, course they are liable if the tank comes away from its fittings etc.

I think it shows a few on here do not know the work that goes into making a tank frame up, the fitting is easy part normally.

Design a frame then buy the metal get fabricator to make it up, hope it fits the tank, have it powder coated then get the bolts and fit it.

Let us all know the cost.

I know if I had to do it again I would be using a company as it is a ball ache both times, I have had 2 tank frames made up, one for flat 650L tank, the other for 2x 250 upright tanks, also have a purefreedom system fitted

Pure freedom want £1000! to fit a £200 tank, come on mate, your having a laugh, thats a rip off.

I have a ionics system and i dont think that they riped me off as much as pure freedom are trying to here.

i wouldnt like that to stand up in court, afterall they have fitted the tank as safely as they can, they havent guaranteed that it will never fail in a accident ( or do they ? ? ? ? ) as thats a legal minefield

If the weld on the cage cracks or they drill the holes in the wrong place on the floor they are liable.

Wouldnt be fit for purpose would it. It would be expected to be able to withstand the forcse generated in an accident sufficiently to prevent the driver (and passengers) at the very least suffering any injuries which otherwise wouldnt have occured.

When I bought my system off PureFreedom the one and only selling angle they went down was safety, if it cant do what it says on the tin then its breaking the law and theyre open to being sued.

to many variables for that though ( well for a court of law )

how fast would you be travelling for them not to be liable ? ?  ?

what type of impact would it need to be below ? ? ?

we have had a similar discussion on here, would a pole manufacturer be liable if a  pole broke ? ? ? ? no it wouldnt

If it was down to a manufacturing fault then yes they would be liable if a pole broke.

Cost of tank ? £200
Cost of S/S cage £250/£300
