having read all the comments on here about the slx i thought i would give one ago, so i ordered the slx30 which would cover a lot of work that i do and ive got to say......................its ok but iam not that impressed.ok so its seems a well made piece of kit, but from all the posts i read i was expecting something really light that i could use all day and then go home feeling as fresh as when i started...not so....i also have a sl2 so i was expecting something as light as that. but having used the slx on a set o 7 apartment blocks today i did the first 4 slx and then went back to the sl2 as that IS a light pole and IS something you can use allday. dont get me wrong iam sure the slx will come in handy now and again but in my opinion the sl2 is a better buy..
I am shocked that anyone would need to take a sectionm or 2 off an slx they are lite as a anything, I have a pic somewhere I will put up, will try and find it.Ian
Yup! After a fishing pole or modular the SLX is heavier at 30ft. And on apartments with lots of space around them then modular is brilliant. But on domestic do what I do and ditch the biggest two sections of the SLX into the back of the van and only use them when you need to. Now you have rigidness, lightness and telscopicity (good word eh?) which IMO is faster at these heights.
Gold is right Ian; if you can afford it get the right pole for the jobI use a four section, unless I know I need the other section(s) for the odd window, if the job is an hour long or so I will use two different poles.
