I know it does sound crazy but if some one wants to go through courts then you can be talking big money.

The big money claims come from personal injury. If your ladder falls or pole snaps & hits someone on the head then the resulting claim could be huge. Property damage is an issue, but its rare the money gets big on that side of things. I have €6.5 million cover for €600 per annum which covers me for property worked on (many policies don't!) and covers the use of ladders, access equipment, pressure washing and office/shop cleaning work.

Many of my commercial contracts require a copy of my insurance details, and  even when it isn't requested I always include it with the quote pack as it helps convey the professional image I want for my business.

should be asking who hasnt got insurance!

public liabilty is a must - covers you for any injury you may cause to a customer/public.

will also need cover for damages property and so on.

dont confuse public liabilty with any damage cover!

public liability is not legally required. Unless you employ someone.

Work on your own, its your choice to have it or not. But bear in mind the consequences if you do not have it, and an accident occurs

Public Liability is a must no matter how careful you are.

Had a freak accident a few months ago, and while a claim didn't go through in the end it was a massive comfort to know I was covered, it was worth £90 for that alone  ;D
