Hi paul,

I would dampen a towell with stainpro, gently rub stain and then gently rinse with water using machine.

Alternatively use another part of the towell dampened with cold water and you may be able to rinse out the blood without disturbing what may be in the backing.

Either way try to keep water to a minimum.

If this doesn't work then the rust eraser route is worth trying.

Cheers

Hi

A 10p sized blood stain can be the size of a dinner plate underneath.

Does the person who bled have hepatitus B, Aids, HIV, is a drug user or on any cyto-toxic drugs?

If you fail to get all the blood out then what remains will decay and carry infection and may start to smell, also if you don't clean your machine properly then when you do the next job you will contaminate it with the blood.

If you don't wear correct PPE then you risk infection, what happens if you get a splash in your mouth, nose, eyes or ears, or an open cut?

Just be careful and weigh up the job to see if it's worth it.

The wick back means that the blood underneath is still there and you haven't extracted it all, so it has to be re-done and you will have to de-contaminate everything all over again.

Also using a sanitizer will do little good, you need a bio-cide which must stay on for at least 15 minutes.

To repeat myself .......... cut it out, bag it, tag it and bin it !!!

I hope your shots are up to date Paul.

For all the advice that has been given on this thread, Martin's is the most relevant.

Hi guys

I have a number of elderly customers who call me to say "Done it again!" I use normal cleaning extraction to soak up the excess and the lumpy bits and then soak the area in rust remover. Leave to work, have a cup of coffee with the client, kick the dog, and extract again. Works for me! The important thing is to really wet the area to dilute the blood to stop wicking.

If its a slaughter house then I use a Stanley knife and skip the carpet.

Hope you've bagged it in a biohaz bag & taken it to a local incinerator. Clinical waste/hazardous waste carriers licences required!

Dont forget the floor underneath . If the blood has gone through it will be in the fibres of the floorboards. If its not a great amount you may sanitise and paint seal it.

Hi

Nick Mazalli had had enough, after losing his wife to his best friend and his co workers constantly winding him up, he snapped.

He kicked in their door, armed to the teeth. he ex best friend was waiting for him and fired a 9mm colt at him, but nick was wearing Kevlar and shot back with a 12 gauge hitting his ex friend in the chest.

He calmly walked up to him with his CAR15 automatic and blew off his arm, aim at his other arm and blew that off as well, he expended 350 rounds blowing off both arms and both legs.

His ex mate, still alive begged for death, Nick calmly reached into his pocket, spray lighter fuel over  his ex mates nuts and set them on fire, after a very long pause with his ex mate screaming he shot him in the heart.

Now, get the blood out of that!  ;)
