L5 heater users ?

Easy to understand,

if you use a L5 heater do you have the stickers on your van to say you are carrying gas ?

no one will be able to see who does not have one so please be honest if your breaking the law.

but who has fire training? and who also carry at least a 2kg fire extinguisher in the cab?

That is shocking to read, I hope anyone that employs are having there staff trained correctly and are keeping records of the training.

Also from reading: if you do not have vents for the gas, you have to have stickers to warn people, not even got past page 3.

Is shocking what is not known, I did not know more than half this stuff.

Some of the stuff on there is not valid for users with single bottle - your better off phoning the HSE and VOSA with your set up and asking for clarification.

I have a L5 but I dont use it in the van.

Funnily enough, one of the questions that I was asked on renewing my van insurance last week is if I carried any bottles of gas on board.

I've got vents (Roof and floor) and stickers on the outside of the van,.. also a fire extinguisher in the cab.

You can get automatic extinguishers for about £60 that attach to the roof and are set off by heat,.. very good idea IMO.

I had a sticker on my van when i had it in. I spoke to some firefighters about it as im applying and they said if you didnt have a sticker and they were there trying to get you out and it went off you could well be in big trouble and liable for alot.

Im not a gaylord about gas heaters in vans, but just being sensible is the best. Make sure bottle is secured and heater fitted properly with no leaks. And stick a sticker on back...simple...end of day touring vans have them fitted in so why not us.

The L5 is 5 or 6 litres per min max,.. but there are more powerful heaters available.

the L10 is the next 1 up i guess

does these units ( the L5 ) have a pump ? ? ? ?

so IN pipe from water tank, will it suck itself or does it need a pump ? ? ? ? as its portable ( for RV's and cabins etc ) they wouldnt have main pressure

These units have no pump,..

a 5lpm unit produces more than enough heat for WFP. I originally had a 10lpm unit but swapped it for an L% last winter as I felt it was too hot even on minimum heat on some frosty days!

people spend all this money on heating water, so they can work on a handfull of cold days....yet most dont work in the rain, which we get day after day all year round

water tank --- 12 V pump --- L5 heater --- hose

will a 12 V sub pump work ? ? ? ? ?

Why are you wanting such a high flow rate Matt? I use to have my shurflo set to 3 which is noraml working speed on digi varistream for me but could have it on full wap if needed...but you dont need that much? Are you thinking for something else?
