So whose applying for admin then..
« on: December 10, 2009, 08:59:23 pm »
Hi everyone

Can you help us find a new administrator?

Established in 2003, Cleanitup.co.uk is the world’s largest cleaning forum, attracting up to 1000 members per day who post in excess of 20,000 messages per month. We’re now looking for a new commercial administrator who can help us develop the site by introducing new services and features to our members.

Are you, or someone you know, looking for a new and interesting home-based role?

You would take full responsibility for all day to day aspects of running the site and identify new business opportunities. This is ideal for someone with good commercial acumen and a genuine interest helping others develop their business.

You will need to have:
Excellent communication skills with good written English
An enthusiastic and professional attitude
In-depth knowledge of the UK cleaning industry

The role provides:
Flexible hours to suit
A profit sharing arrangement with uncapped earnings

If you or someone you know fits the bill, please email your CV with an indication of how you think the site could be developed to:

admin@cleanitup.co.uk

Many thanks

Mike Boxall - forum administrator
c/o i-Clean Systems Ltd
Unit 14, 190 Malvern Common
Poolbrook Road
Malvern
WR14 3JZ

Tel: 01684 580680

Closing date for expressions of interest: 31st December 2009

Slumpbuster & Ewan have my vote.

Seriously,.. despite all the abuse we give them (all in good fun) I reckon these guys have the business acumen and the out of the box ideas that are needed to revive CIU from its current state. :)

Maybe Matt could be the tea boy? ;)

i have run bigger ( more members and posts per day ) boards, a tech board i setup was massive ( at the time ), you could search any number of tech / nerdy keywords and it was top of google  ,i it was copied and copied and then for a number of reasons we decided to call it a day ( its a long story ) have even had a community board i setup featured in .net mag ( ooooooooo get me ;))

the money has been made from message boards, it was done years ago, now your only option is to rent banner space and the money isnt it it, i know what i make from my projects with renting banner space, it only just covers the hosting bills , so if anyone is thinking it will be a earner, forget it ( sorry Mike )

personally if i was Mike, i would appoint a fair few mod's and let then do the admin job betweem them ( lets face it, this place doesnt really need much admin work done "board side", let then share the profits and the burden , have a pot of money and every now and then share it out, this method works very well, the mods are kept keen

That's meant to be Lord Kitchener isn't it - from the old war time ads saying "Your country needs you".  Seems a bit dramatic for a window cleaning forum   :)

As always very knowledgeable on the subject matt ( which i am not) however that's not quite what mike asked. He wants someone to develope income streams from the largest wc cleaning (is it 60k members or something) community in the country. That could be flogging our names to various orgs such as public liability insurers, or other suppliers, or many other ways of milking what we have.

The biz opps section never really took off, but there has to be a number of ways there. When he had the idea for the directory, i thought great, but then he went and made a complete pigs ear of it.

Reading some of things said many seem to confuse admin and moderator. These roles are seperate, the mod needs good communications skills and good judgement, the admin role suggested seems more strategy and of course day to day running.

It is Kitchener.
Give the admin job to Gary Mallett. He`s different.
