Better just to wave bye bye to that kind of enquiry.
I had one yesterday:
"Hi, I saw your advert and am looking to get my lounge carpet cleaned and see you live in the same street as me. It's only a very small room, 10ft by 8ft at it's widest and isn't too bad. Also, I don't want any furniture moving."
I then explained how I work and that normally a room of this size would be £50 but, as he's a "neighbour" and the job should be very straight forward, I'll do it for £45.
"Well, I was looking to hire a machine and do it myself for £25. Can't you do if at this price?"
Needless to say, we've all experienced this type of customer, and all have our own way of dealing with them. I tried my best to explain the the negatives of a D.I.Y. job and the excellent deal he was getting with me doing the job for only £45 and thought he may have been intelligent enough to understand and he then proceeded to ask:
"Ok fair enough, can you do it for 30 quid then?"
As they say in Scotland - "Away an bile yer heid"!!!
