it might be someone starting out and doesnt know prices, or just trying to get a load of work, it must work if he is in a house doing it, might not make a lot of money  but could be on dole

did a quote tonight LR, DR & a BR I quoted £140 (lots of stains and furniture to move) a local company who have been trading 20yrs (10yrs as a Chemdry franchise) told them over the phone £77, they must be stupid, I feel like ringing them and telling them too stop being such idiots.

I agree with the pricing issues we have but it may depend on how he's priced it, over the phone the sizes quoted to him may be smaller than you may have seen and he may not have seen or been told about the stains.

Roughly how big were the rooms? (I know you don't price that way)

There is a company in Kent not far from me and those are the sort of prices he charges .He has 3 guys working for him they do 5 jobs a day each .He pays them 35% of the weeks takings . The cleaners average £680?week and he takes the rest .He drives a Porsche and lives in a £1 million  house .Not bad for a cheapie is it  ;D

Everyone slags of cheap prices but they fill a part of the market, are cheap cleaners as good? probably not as through, you know the little bits what some customers like to see and that's why they choose someone more expensive and prefer the little extras.

It used to bother me but not anymore.
Today:
"How much to clean a one bed back to back property?"
"EOT is it?"
"Yes"
"That'll be £90 which includes the vat and you get a letter for your agent to say it's been professionally cleaned etc etc"
"That's far too much, a friend only paid £50 and she has an identical property"
"Well contact your friend for that cleaner because that is what we charge...bye"
 ;D

If a friend got it done for £50, they must have rang you hoping to get it for less.  :o
