I can see the attraction for some. How does your stated hours fit in with the 48 hour (maximum) week for employees?

8.5 hours a day X 6 is 51 hours

Saturdays our job and finish so normally 12 ish

So across the 17 weeks it is judged on it would work out under 48 hours a week

Most of our guy have opted out of the 48 hour week as they like all the over time.

Most people in the real world would love 51 hrs per week,

Ive got a guy who gives me a hand away from his full time job as a welder who is now on 32 hrs per week because of the credit crunch( I cant spell the reses...) word ;)

What im getting at is that most people on here brag about how little time they spend at work when in reality most of the UK are trying to boost their hours.

I myself work 24hrs per day.....

I can't believe this - someone comes on here offering work which I guess will pay the operative 20k a year plus a van and holidays - and the majority of posters slate him!  :(

No I wouldn't take it, but someone who has been made redundant or who is looking for work for a reliable mate would find that useful, especially this time of the year.

With the right attitude and work ethos, a good employ would soon be on £30-£40k with JV, which is way more than the average one man band will take home net.

I would pay £30k to the right man any day of the week, they would have to prove themselves first though.

I didn't see any slating - just a bit of banter.  Unless of course some posts had been removed by the time I got here?

I'm sure I could be worth 35k - 40k  myself to a good employer and that is more than I currently profit from my business.  Obviously I would need to get a cherry picker licence first to be worth that (though I wouldn't do abseiling).  The down side is that I would lose the flexi time and the autonomy that I've come to love.
I actually have come to like the flexi time more than the money.  No-one ever laid on their death bed saying that they wish they had done more overtime.  If i was in Charlie or Dave's areas and if I was still in the habit of being an employee, I would definitely be applying though.  The problem with self-employment is that it can make some people unemployable   :)  .
BTW.  I'm only at home because I've been doing shop cleaning down the road from my place.  Just having a break before I go out to do some domestos.

I know quite a few average "one man bands", that take more than £30K home. You seem to think that "one man bands" don't earn a lot. Your attitude is, if the "normal window cleaner" doesn't have more than 2 firm vans and T-shirts with printed logo's on them and at least 3 people working for him, then they can't earn more than you. Wrong! I wish, you would get off your high horse. There are people on here, that are 10 times bigger than you.

I don't want to sound nasty, ban me if you like, but all this "I'm a mod, I must be better than the rest of you", is a joke. it makes my blood boil, when I see people creeping up your backside.  Mike Halliday gives great answers on posts, right down to earth.

You don't answer posts from guys, who want an answer on a "forum question", guys who ask mods (YOU) in the "window cleaning section" all you answer, is your own posts. Posts you started, or compliments.

Shame

In the last 6 months, all you've been giving is an impression, that you are some kind of household name.

Most of your posts are waving your own flag (I've been on TV, blah blah)

It's embarrassing to read. There is nothing wrong, with doing well, it's when you shove YOUR flag down other peoples throats.

How you accept the praise from "smaller one man bands" is sickening.

By the way, Cozy told you by email who I was when I opened my account, so I am not hiding from anything.

Who are they then?  ;D

This is strange.  It's like I've been reading different posts to some people   :)  .
I try to read posts without interjecting any particular feeling or emotion into it because the text is just what it is but the feeling may all be coming from me rather than the one who does the original posting.
