its getting to the point its having an adverse effect on her indoors, not good, trying to distance myself and relax a bit but it aint easy :(

I know how tough it can be to motivate your self to go out door knocking at times, but just think put in the hard work now how much you are going to enjoy the summer months next year.

I agree with everybody who says set targets. I had a target of 50 for November and although I missed my target without having that to aim for I doubt I would have got the 40 I ended up with. Next target 100 custies by end of January ;)

Four or five years ago, Andrew McCann, (formerly of Pure Freedom) took on a friend in his window cleaning round.  They set themselves a target of £2000 of new work between the 1st and 31st of January.

The achieved it with a couple of days to spare.

Now THAT'S a target ;)

I got 11 tonight with a couple of more very likely possibles( 1 got to call in when i clean the other said yes but just had some bad news in family)So I am dead pleased with it,not big paying stuff, mostly £7 with the odd £6,It was small council houses(little new type) so thought that was plenty, was roughly £1 a window.I got recommended the area by a passer by whom saw me cleaning a house near me,asked if i would do this area,I said yes and he said they struggle for cleaners over there so i should do well(he is going to ring me so thats another!!) any way, part he lives on is hundreds of 4/5 bed detached houses,so hopefully I might have a full round before too long!!!!

Well done chopsie, I missed this post so great result

But snap, also bagged 11 today, great boost of confidence all close together and also very close to other houses I've picked up recently so over the next few cleans i'll have them all on the same day or two.

lucky buggers!!  I havent got any more new ones since apart from my new 8 weekly i done yesterday and 3 calls out of my advert in the paper!! December is looking like a poor month for me, may just use the spare time to design a new flyer and get them ready for new year.  Then hit the neighbouring villages at the weekends!!

Chin up mate, you've just got to stick at it and knock, knock and knock some more. If you want it you have to go and get it.

Quoted that job today £20 8 weekly, and ive got it, they said last guy who was there just cleaned bottom windows (glass only) for £11 then the other house i quoted yesterday i have her £15 initial clean and then £12 after, called her today to find out and she said i was far too expensive and that her last cleaner that has same kit as me done it for £6, then she goes on to say he aint been there for 6 months!!! i wonder why that is!!!  So gave her the chat and told her i wont be leaving her house until the jobs done right, my works guaranteed etc so then she says well i will give my other cleaner a call and see if he can fit me in before xmas if not ill get you, what would you say to her when she calls back?  I feel like telling her to feck off :) oh and her house has 14 windows and 2 doors!!!

If you're desperate for work, go and do it, but don't expect to do it more than once ::)

I would say I can do them after christmas or I will have to charge you the one-off price of £20 or what ever you charge, if she dont go for it walk away, she will be a messer if she does not accept it I would lay money on it.

Having run out of flyers i have now ordered 5000 full colour flyers(far better than my 1 colour i did have) so that im ready to get out there come the new year, every saturday i intend to be somewhere knocking doors to try and drum up some new work, the houses i do have spread out throughout the 4 weeks will be getting bunched up come january as i will be using the lateness of having xmas hols in between to help with this, may not be out alot of days but will still be making the same and then 'fitting in' others in the gaps, then in a month or so ill take a few days and do the same again, only way to get my round 'sorted'.
