Thanks jeff :)

Have you used it at full height ? If so, what's it like to use ?

What's the difference between the 3000psi and 2200psi ?

Would a 2200psi pressure washer do the job ?

Sorry for all the Q's

Yes I have many a time and still do, a valuable piece of advice I will pass on and that is? If you do use it at full extent use the wide jet nozzle until you get the hang of it and only then give the narrow jet nozzle a try but you really need to take care when you do because it has a kick worse than a mule, the first time I tried it I was fighting like mad with it and you can't switch it of because your hands are holding onto it like mad and its not until you get it under control can you switch it off.

So until you get the hang of it never use it at full extent with the narrow Jet, if you can drop the top section down as far as possible the using the narrow Jet is not a problem and boy watch it blast the dirt of even the dirtiest of guttering.

800psi  ;D ;D No seriously you do not need a real powerful pressure washer but get one with a decent engine, the yellow one I have has the Yamaha engine in it and I never knew that until one of my customers told me, but Honda are the cream ones.

Ok What you need to buy as an extra is the gutter cleaner
http://www.northerntooluk.com/pressure-washer-accessories/general-accessories
If you look at my picture that I posted you will see the nozzles and the gutter cleaner and you will also see a straight tube with a black screw handle on it, That comes with the lance, the gutter tool quick fits into that and in the end of the gutter tool fits your Jets, when your done with the internals remove the gutter tool and fit your Jets into the straight tube for external work.

Ask what you like that's what the forums for  ;)

jeff did you say you have the lance from northern or you use an old pole?

heard them lances when you 1st push power on it kicks upwards and can drop and damage slates or guttering if not careful. i'd imagine you could casue some damage

Yes I have the lance from Northern tool and I use the scoop on an old universal pole I have.

They can and will kick on switch on and switch off, so before you start it or stop it, raise it at least 1' above the guttering before activating the trigger at least until you get used to it.

It could cause damage to the guttering if you switched it off to close and all this can happen with the narrow jet fitted that's when it becomes a bucking mule, the chances of it causing damage to a roof are much slimmer because I recon your gutter tool would snap first.

Training is the answer to any power tool and the lance is no exception  ;)

What worries me Jeff, is that the last place I would want to dispose of all that crud would be down the gutterpipe? Do you not worry about this?
I have the lance and a vac but have never mastered the lance really for insides - I tend to splatter it everywhere.  ;D

I scoop the worst of it out ftp  ;) as you see by the video but if it turns out to be really bad one then I simply tie a pair of old tights to the outlet or an old net bag for vegetables given away by any supermarket  just to be on the safe side ;)

Practice with the lance and it can soon be mastered I even do guttering over conservatories and this does please custy's  ;)

jus t been reading back over this threa dand noticed you have been tlaking about tights and net bags WTF? i am lost

i think he means tying some old tights/veggie net to the bottom of the down pipe to catch all the 'crud' going down the drain and blocking that up.

Just chuck an old veggie bag onto the drain cover, no need to tie it on  ;)

just been directed towards this.
looks like it works real well and very impressed with the homemade scoop jeff.
defiantly going to be thinking about doing it as a add alongside the wc.
just need to pull together some cash for a good pw.

is petrol a must? is it for the extra power and spec or is it for convenience of not needing a power socket?
as i have a generator in the van that powers the low power karcher that i use for my bin washing.

thanks
