I have tried a pole but you cannot see if its clean so I get up the ladder and clean with a dry brush first then a wet cloth.I even brush glass and frames with a handled floor brush and then clean with a squeege if they are very durty, save my microfibre clothes.

okay man...thanks for the input.

anybody else?

Oh right...okay... well... when ive done frames and sills with trad pole (because there over a con roof usually or its too windy)
i just use my applicator. and it works well but takes time so i still cant help thinking a brush head would be better. but i'll have to try it asuppose for myself!

u can use a sponge in a fixi clamp then go over with a microfibre.if their not too bad u could just use more water on ur t mop when ur cleaning the window and detail the frames and sills with a dry microfibre/scrim.but if they are really bad ur better of gettin up the ladder with cif and them sponge/scourers and charge a good price. ;Di think WFP is the way to go if u dont want to go up the ladders and get quicker when u can afford it
price higher/work harder!

i suppose its up to u GB.sounds like a lot of faffing around and would just eat into ur working day and waste time.ok maybe on well priced one off jobs but not on ur regular round.u want to be fairly fast and economical without skimping on a good job.like i said if u want to inclu frames and sills every time and want speed i think WFP has gotta be the best option.

best wishes dazmond
price higher/work harder!

I use a Harris pole with Wagtail on for windows over conservatory, then take the Wagtail off and detail with a m/f cloth held on with elastic bands that I keep round the end of the pole so they're handy.  The change the cloth to wipe the sill.
BUT, I'd never do other windows with a trad pole, you just can't detail properly and you're not close enough to see the job.
For me it's trad/ladders or switch to wfp.

so let me get this straight... with a trad pole your not close enought to see the job but with a w.f.p you are?

It`s to do with  a lot more water flowing through the brush.Have a look at the videos on the  Wagtail technique thread

Sorry, it was a rushed post.
You`re never going to see what you`re doing using either pole, as well as you can on the ground. The advantage of wfp is the volume of water you use. It gives you more cleaning power although you can`t see as clearly as you`d like.

I mentioned the Wagtail thread as I thought it might interest you if you`re looking at trad poles for 1st floor. Or is is just frames and sills you are asking about?

Are you going to glass, frames and sills? And is it a regular thing?

If so, its got to be ladders or wfp unless for some reason you can`t use either.

Tell us a bit more about your plans.

Ps. my girlfriend thinks I`m sad and boring with a little pr :-Xck
