The cost of allerg-stop?
« on: May 17, 2005, 10:42:23 am »
Have I got the costings right for allerg-stop?

I use 1.5litres of pre-spray to clean the average suite.

Using allergstop costing £72.28 for 10litres ready to use would mean a chemcial cost of £10.84 for a suite.

Existing cost of normal microsplitter is around 60p using a 10-1 dilution.

Is allergstop ready to use or do you dilute it?

How have you adjusted your pricing if the above is correct?

thanks
Mark

to be honest i wouldn't want you to clean my suite if you were going to put 1 1/2 litres of pre spray on it.

It is ready to use diluted at 1:6

further dilution would reduce the effect of the allergy control part.

The idea of microsplitters is that you don't use much.

Cleaned a large 4 bedroom house and their suite 2 x 2seaters and 2 x 1 seaters and in total i used about 5-6 litres. cost me about £28 in chemical and made well in excess of £300

I asked a simple question and would like a simple answer.

Carpet Knights - when you become a man and decide to use your own name and not hide under your trading name then you can lecture me on how much prespray to use to clean a suite.   :P.  1.5 litres is the average.  I may use more and I may use less depending so dont show your inexperience by making such a sweaping statement.

Steve - what you on about.  Are you drinking the stuff instead of cleaning with it?

Any other allergstop users out there who can converse like adults.

Allerg-stop comes ready to use.Obviously my pricing structure has changed to take into account the fact the product is more expensive. But as a network member I don't pay £72.28.

Hi Mark

Simple join the network, then you buy the product at a lower cost

Yes the cost of cleaning with allergstop is dearer it should be! you are doing 4 time the job cleaning disinfecting, eliminating all allergens and reducing the re-soiling, therefore the cost to the customer should be dearer so at worse you charge a little extra and offer your customer a far superiuor service,

where is the problem in that,

So far most if not all the network members ARE charging more than they did previously and getting new business.

Best regards Nick

So there you have it, I do use my real name, so that must mean that i am a real man in your eyes. And therefore am in a position to "lecture" according to your post

Also i did answer your question regarding the expense of the product and even gave examples of profit made on it. Obviously that was not enough!

personal attacks on people are not needed on this forum and this has been happening a lot of recent to a few members. Sherlock being one. Just cos you don't like what is said, you shouldn't make personal attacks as a result

Off topic slightly but I asked a while ago how much pre spray (Microsplitters) others used to clean the average sized 3 Piece Suite with average soiling. Most gave the answer of around 1.5 litres, which is what Mark is quoted as using. I also find that to be the amount required to complete the job to my satisfaction.

hi there mark
i got some samples of allerg stop my presonal opion
is that it is probly the best cleaner that i have used to date
the first suite i done i used about 100ml of allerg stop
suite cleaned up brillant
second suite used adout 150ml, iam very stingey
i used the last 750ml on 3 bedrooms and a hallway
all cleaned really well, i also found the cleaning to be much easier
the rates i applied probly not enough to kill all allergys. but i was only
testing to see how well it cleaned.
ps,   i also used formula 90 powder as well in tank.

ps thats about as simple as i can make it

Carpet Knights

I apologise for not seeing your name at the bottom of your posts.  I dont have a magnifing (sp) glass.

You opening line was 'to be honest i wouldn't want you to clean my suite if you were going to put 1 1/2 litres of pre spray on it'.  This comment suggests I'm some sort of cowboy in your eyes.  This is what I took offense at.

I'll give you a few more years experience to learn the error of your ways.

-------------------------------

Thankyou for those who did make a decent reply.  Of course I realised it was costing more hence my post but I was looking for user opinions from experience to make sure I was on the right track.

Hi David

Yes you were not using enough

You should not use anything else with it other than water, it fights against the AllerSTOP

This will also take away 1 of the 4 benifits of AllerSTOP away,  no resoiling

Also it does not kill allergys it breaks them down

Hope this helps Gavin

Mark yo satd that you use 1.5 litres of standard solutions, is that concentrate or mixed with water?

1.5 litres of concentrate works out at £9.00 (before discounts)

Shaun

Thats the normal MS diluted at 10-1.  So thats 150ml of product for 1.5l if my maths is correct.

Having re-read my first post I can see some of you are confused.  1.5 litres of pre-spray is the total diluted mix NOT 1.5l of concentrate.  I'm not that thick.

Steve,

3 questions.

What has the minimum spend been reduced from?

Is this payable up front?

Does this give area exclusivity?

Cheers,

Doug
