I know a few of you clean S/M/T...well?is it the best thing since sliced bread?...Where can i learn more?..where are the training cources?...can i earn more?

Depends on your take regarding sliced bread. Personally I think it's foul so anything must be better.
There are a number of places throughout the country that do stone cleaning courses. Some more specialised than others. Guess it's very much where you are located as to which you do.

As to "can I earn more": you will have to divulge what you do now & how much you charge for it.

Standard tile cleaning is pretty much on par with carpet cleaning  If you are prepared to go into stone/marble cleaning/restoration then yes there is big money to be made but it is hard work & does require an initial investment in the right equipment

Yes it is worth it but be prepared to invest around £10,000 if you want to get into diamond polishing floors etc, plus you need to have a basic understanding about natural stone, sealers etc.

I recently went on a course kindly put on by Dowding and Plummer in Birmingham and arranged by Mick Gayton who is into hard floor cleaning. Contico were there and did a small piece about the new diamond pads that they bringing out in 2010 that are easy to use and cheaper, still more specialised but they were trying to aim at the janitorial market so the system must be made for anyone to use just the identification needed.

Contico diamond pads are just a quick fix, put them onto a granite floor they wont even touch it. If you want to invest in proper machines check out Klindex machines.

You may be right they were a bit cheap for what they may suggest but they did come in a lot of different grades though, but (sales bumf) they are diamond filled not the padded ones and are supposed to be far more efficient but I have no knowledge of these apart from that they will be new for 2010.

Have a look at the klindex site, they do the diamond filled pads for daily maintenance.

stone floor cleaning is something that needs to be promoted and educated to the customer more, thats probably why people dont get asked a great deal or they think that a mop and bucket will do.
im sure Brain Phillbin will be happy to sell you a franchaise and offer great support, but being an independant, a franchaise is the last thing i personally would want
i'm doing a floor of a bathroom this week but only went to quote for some cartpets, i just happened to mention that we could clean the tiles and grout, so that tells me that i am failing to promote it well enough, same goes for Leather cleaning
And P.s  when i do get a hard floor to clean and seal, it is usally a well paid job, £300-£500 normally

I'd agree with that, the demand coming in is low for domestic hard floors, I've only done it through being in peoples home and seeing hard floors and telling them I do it even though I do advertise it.

Yes its worth doing it if you have a TM anyway, but don't be mislead into thinking your missing anything big, by that I mean its not a massive market, bit like leather, imo. (reference domestic)

i have been interested in tile/hard floor cleaning/restoration for a while now and got a flyer sent to me the other day , wow i thought, this is it, i think it was tile clean or someone, anyway i looked on their web site and every pic showed some guy on his knees with a scrubbing brush or something. i'm not afraid of hard work but those days are gone where i want to be on my padded knees to earn a bob or two.    that said, to get into large area tile cleaning ie factories or showrooms would be good.

Colin doesn't need a stairlift Shaun.    With the vac on his t/m running at full power, he just needs to stick the hose to the top of his head. That should suck him back into an upright position

I looked at doing hard floors about 7 years ago. I was all set up for doing it but found that I was getting more and more carpets and upholstery that I couldn't find the time to develop the idea. Hard floors wouldn't fit with my business model at all now.
