what do you reckon the best way to seal a joint without going to buy another joint?
i have in the past just used sillicon, just made sure it was clean and enougth
time to cure , it has never leaked, i do their windows for the past two years,i did the repair about a year ago.
what other method do you recommend ?
kind regards
paul
it can work, in the old days with cast iron gutters, you used to put in some gutter sealant and bolt together, it can work with plastic aswell, BUT plastic moves around alot when it gets warm in the sun etc, so the joint is likely to break again
you can get the gutter jointing sealant that never cures, it stays tacky forever ( well its s.posed to ), this can be used
the only way to do the job right it to change the joint ( or fit new rubbers if they are a similar size )
when i used to do this all the time, we used to have a bucket of rubber sections for the jointers, used to normally change the joint though
i fixed my leaking gutters last summer, i put the joint back together, its leaking again, its on the side of the house that gets all the sun
