Hi

Sorry to hear about that.

Do the police think there is much chance of catching them?

I fitted an alarm to my Toyota a few years back, as well as immobiliser and the other stuff, this would tigger once a door was opened. The alarm was rigged to the internal lights, so back door opens, inside light goes on, on goes the alarm.
Its a bit horse has bolted, but for less than a hundred, it got to worth it.

Spencer,
have you posted on the other forums?

I think we are all guilty of not securing our items enough Spencer it usually takes an experience like this to do what we should have done at least you have insurance which I am sure many on here have not!! so take this as a stark reminder everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Joe makes a good point with regards to sign writing, top tip !

I must admit when i have the ninja in the van i park right up to garage door.
Think i will now leave the ninja in the garage,as i have a home made ramp to get it in and out of the van.

hope they catch the low lifes!!
If in doubt.....Leave it out !!

Thanks again for the comments, the police sent a fingerprint girl down but didn't actually attend. She seemed to think it was a pro job. Van has a very expensive alarm now, along with lock covers and other security measures. I was fortunate that I have been trading a few years now, so I can weather this, if someone had just started, it could put them under, this probably wouldn't even occur to the scum.

Worth ringing your local police for this.

I just had all my home contents and cleaning equipment ( and the van and car) marked with something called 'Smart Water' and it was free. (I'm in Derbyshire, not sure if its nationwide)

Its a water like substance and each vat has a unique DNA code, its difficult to remove and only shows up under UV light, the policeman that applied the stuff put it in all the difficult to remove areas.

You get a batch of stickers to put in your windows and smaller ones for your equipment telling scum bags that your gears protected, the guy told me all the pawn shops (legit ones) have UV equipment and won't touch anything that glows.

Nothings ever gonna be completely theft proof, but it's another deterrent.

That's a really good idea, a customer of mine, Brufords Jewellers in Eastbourne has suffered three robberies in the last two years, the last people were caught and the smart water was the  conclusive evidence that put them away.
