in this pic, can anyone tell me which port is inlet/outlet/waste
in this one, can anyone tell me what this canister is, what i am meant to do with it, and do i need it?!

Inlet is the larger half inch white elbow connector. Outlet is the 3/8" blue elbow and waste is 3/8" black connector. The tank is a flush tank which primes the membranes on start up with pure water, helps them last slightly longer. Not really needed, but useful.

I would have it standing upright m8, if you want it out the way then in the far right side next to cage if it will fit there
then run hoses round tank frame, on it side would take up more room and also easier to damage

The Merlin unit can be laid on its side if needed.
