Very good cause - my wife did her race for life today. If you think your hard - try reading the stickers on the ladies backs which give details of why they are running. I can't read them any more it's too sad.  :-\
Writting this post had me in tears, I am dreading going to the race in July will be a sad day, but also an honour. I am well Proud of the support I have had from the uk forums so far you all know who you are, good on you,

Thank you all that have donated so far.

I bumped into an old flame last night, (Elaine) she looks well, very good looking girl; seems fine but its not quite as clear as that, cancer can be with us and be killing us silently without even knowing it.

7 years ago she was diagnosed with breast cancer, she recieved her treatment and was given the  all clear for 5 years. Then out of the blue she was diagnosed with bone cancer, and last night she tells me she now has a brain tumor.

She knows she is going to die.

She has 3 girls, one of them, the youngest, is the prettiest thing you'll ever see. She'll break quite a few guys hearts when shes older.

Anyway, you also know Ian about my Mum last year dying very suddenly, we only had 3 days knowledge of her condition before she died. Very shocking at the time.

It doesnt matter how many people were online, there should be absolutely no pressure or cohersion for people to give.

People give or dont give for there own particular reasons and nobody should sit in judgement of that.

For posts like this to work there should be absolutely no pressure on anyone whatsoever.

ian, as you know i got wind of this on acs forums, and at that time  (yesterday afternoon) the amount collected so far was roughly 150 quid, now you are at 3/4 of the your target.....what amazes me is the amount of goodwill on all the window cleaning forums, i didnt realise just how many guys have been touched in their own personal lives with this terrible disease and i wish everyone on this and the other forums all the best with the fund raising efforts for your charity for the benefit of others.

I reckon we should make this an annual event...give a bit back like the cabbies!

Firstly: It will be donating to a massively worthwhile charity which we all may (God forbid) have need of at some point.

And secondly: It'll raise our profile in the public's eye from "over-charging greedy window cleaners" to "over-charging greedy window cleaners but at least they give something back".

I vote we call it: The Summer Trust.

I dont want to stop as every £1 helps, I have set the new target a little lower than the last. I would never be able to raise all the money to cure this illness, but with all you guys and others that are donating  can make a real difference, I am shocked at what we have raised so far, it is fantastic.

if anyone wants to donate £1 you do not have to put your name on show if that is what is putting you off of sponsoring, but £1 donations would really help, the more people the more money for Cancer Research and one step closer to the answer to this problem.

I personally and doing this out of respect for what Summer went through and for her Memory, hopefully she is looking down smiling also to help others maybe not have to go through any of it.

I have kids myself and don't know how I could cope if it struck (god forbid) (touch wood) one of my kids, I have had cancer myself so I know what my parents went through when I was a kid and how it affects me today, the world can be cure if is given free rain to do so....

Keep this going people, and once again thank you everyone that's read this and/or donated so far.

Make a different to someone else...

I think it does, this forum is supposed to help each other . Even if they only donated £1 it would all help

iv donated but i do have to say its personal choice, some may have just recently done the manchester run for charity(like me ;D) or some may regualr make donations to charity and you have to stop some were!

But Ian your story got me hook line and sinker and that is why i donated and im sure that is also why others have.

Good luck!!!
