Wouldn't Pull the Skin off of a Rice Pudding  ;D

Is the build quality of Transits anygood? All the 3 years old and over I see are rusting around the arches etc..

What are the Traffic type vans like build quality wise? I know many have drive train issues thou.

Dont know what the 85ps is like as i have the 100ps model and that seems to drive better the more weight it has in it
also when i was looking for a van i asked everyone i saw with a Transit and not one of them had a bad word for them they do rust a bit in certain areas but T-Cut and polish keeps it looking good

To be honest 3 k isnt going to get you much , i think your lookin for rockin horse poo , VIVARO , cracking van but as said pants gearbox , built by renault , i used to work in a transmission rebuilders and thats all we ever had in , you can expect 60k before the box drops out , but we did once get one in with 13k on the clock , what amazes me is the AA , BT , are using them , keep an eye on the market , lots of yellow vivaros are commin your way cheap !

Transits , used to be the MT75 box , again pants , that was our bread and butter in the end , diffs too i might add , not sure what they use now but the rust was due to the fact that transits were made from recyled white goods .

MERCEDES  :'(   Rust city !

MY bro is a merc car addict , so would not slate them , but merc commercial only build vans to last 4 years thats it .

I have ranted on a bit , my van i hear you say , VW T4 £5000 4 years ago 80k on the clock , 101k on the clock now , and it hasnt cost me a penny , bar tyres , shoes, pads .

Reckon its still worth at least 3 k now , but do i want a t5 , im not sure !

Don't forget the rear springs i put in for you ;D

And you're right about the mercs they do rust but merc do only build them to last a few years as they see anything older as disposable
