I didn't think you'd bite my hand off......

Well let me tell you this, when i get my tv slot, slumpbusters nightmares, and i get to go around 'helping' people. You won't find the idea that i could look at what you do and implement a few simple improvements and totally change your working life and financial fortunes quite so laughable.

We could do a "trading places"  I could simplify your job, make you more profit, give you more self-confidence (of which you currently credit to other "things"). I could try to break the cycle of your inability to differenciate (spelling?) between huge global business's & window cleaning. I could introduce a simpler round organiser for you ( I'd even supply the A4 diary) etc.etc. :D

You could- do my round, return home & implement all the above! :P

I wouldn't swear at you either!

The guy who now has three vans may find it laughable that he 'wasted' so much money on his first, but it did make him a success and he was able to avoid the learning curve that most of us have to scale.

How do you know that? You are assuming this because of your fixation with "branded product equals success"

There's every chance (and more) that this guy's van had nothing to do with how well he'd done up to that point.

Did his van go out & build his business up by itself?
Did his van make him do a better job?
Did his van change him as a person?
etc.etc

IMO this guy's van probably had the least influence on what he acheived.

This is not a dig but I can't understand why you seem to need to award success to anything other than yourself? i.e. Why can't you have success without a branded system or george?

how this guy has become a success ( in his eyes and i guess yours clive ) is by buying rounds off guys, he covers a wide area . he has also picked up work by doorknocking, he is the first to admit he is a good salesman, its what he has allways done ( apart from a stint as a window cleaner when in uni up in scotland ), sold things

the van has done nothing, he doesnt even have the LOGO on it, as he wanted to build up his own brand
he still cleans windows a few hours a day, but spends his time walking the streets and meeting up with clients

Why not try something cheaper but does the same job like brodex...

We've just set up an Irish distributor in Dublin, Industrial Garage Equipment... they've got good deals on starter packages.

Please contact me if you want their details.

hi
I have 2 Concept 2o Hot water systems and they have been the best investment i could of made. I have been in the window cleaning business for over 20 years and found that up and down ladders all day was beginning to take its toll on the shoulders and legs. Not being a do it yourself man i checked out several systems and found concept 2o to give a good deal, fitting both systems in to my own vans. i have found the Hot water system economical as it runs on LPG at about a £1 a day on the 600 ltr system. I have gained so many customers since I have had my vans sign written advertising the Hot water system.

That's handy, coming on here and finding a topic you can join in with straight away. What are the chances of that?

Yes, I have been registered for quite a while and have enjoyed reading all the messages and have learnt a lot from every one on here, some of the tips have been really useful. When i first started looking on here i was incapable of using a computer and had to rely on my wife to show me how to use it. I think i am progressing quite well and am learning how to post a message, sorry it's taken so long.
