I have found them fine, I guess the 21ft one but be better for over con roofs.
8/10 houses are cleaned with a 17ft pole, I dont find them to wippy and at about £70 they are cheap.

As someone said harris pole is also a very cheap option, I did a vidoe on youtube converting one. wfp for  £30

The 17ft is less whippy than the 21ft as it has shorter sections.

17' is plenty although sometimes an extra foot would be good. I have a few houses that have a 2nd floor window (vertical not velux type) and I can just barely reach the top of them with the 17'. If there was an extra 12" then I could give a better scrub on the window.
I used to have an Ionics 18' and it ws a great length but was made very badly and didnt last!

Alex - Any plans to extend the 17' (pretty pleaseeeeee) :-*

lol, I do have some steps in the van for that extra height but its not safe so dont use it for wfp.

To be honest the only time you will ever need to extend the 17' fully is to reach the occasional window that I mentioned or you need to reach upstairs windows that are above deep conservatories/ porches.

I've had a few 17'/18' poles in the past and the X-tel is by far the best. Lasts well and clamps are great.

I noticed yesterday that WCW do a Xtel Xtreme, which has been modified to include aluminium collars to stop wear when the pole is fully closed.

Has anybody got any experience with one of these??

i went from a 17ft xtel and found with this pole i was having to do circus acts to get a lot of windows and over stretch the pole all the time, now i use a 24ft xtel all the time with a gardiner's supa lite brush and i find this pole excellent as the sections dont really ever need to be pulled all the way out..

The Aluminium collar on these poles is at the top of the pole where it connects to the angle adapter.
