What do you WFP guys do in the rain ? Its been ping it down in stafford and is still raining though not as hard.

If i go out cleaning windows while its raining will the rain effect the clean ?

Have got a full day booked in today and not even got one done yet

i work in light rain,.. days like this i don't bother,..

Yeah its fine to work in the light rain but anything more than that is a waste of time (residential)!! Customers aren't impressed if its hammering it and you turn up to do there windows!!

Book in some con roofs for the poor weather days!!!

ive worked all day in it and not one complaint, wfp still works in rain so crack on keep up to date and earn a living

I work up to moderate rain.  I gave up around lunchtime today as I didn't regard it as moderate.  I'm almost up to date now anyway so no point getting soaked.  I didn't waste the afternoon as I went to quote a large job.  Some bits are a bit awkward but it looks like a decent job to get.

you cant run a good buisness , if you have to take time off eachtime it rains.... my custies are used to seeing me work in the rain ... they may not like it but i tell them i will call back and do them again for free if the rain affects them... i havnt had a complaint yet,

and anyway if one comes out and says not today, i just miss them out, and move on to the next one :

As i said in an earlier post,what s the differance between working in the rain and it raining 4 hours or 14 hours or4days later.If we go with some on here who won t or can t work in the rain we would never keep up with our schedule,and then what happens,we sit on here moaning about lost wages,can t afford this and that and so on.I do realise that some customers frown on working in the rain but i think they can be educated to realise that we are pro s and therefore we need to work, i don t get any comments anymore because i took the trouble to explain the situation to everyone. cheers mick

You can't run a good buisness if you have a day off every time it rains in this country agreed and bills need paying!!! Most of the guys i know don't clean domestics in heavy rain, contracted commercial yes but residential does raise eyebrows!!

Its totally down to the individual and if you want to do it when its bouncing down then thats all good!!

I find rain isn't a problem but strong wind is.
I guess that might be because I'm by the coast,dunno

I don't clean in the rain, don't see the point.
How many of you that do would get home after cleaning in heavy rain all day and think "oh, my own windows could do with a clean, think I'll do them now" not many I'll bet!

Do you want to work in the rain? I did the other day, had no choice had to finnish off a job. It wasnt pleasant infact I came home fed up. I had done a days work when others couldnt but I was soaking wet even though I had waterproofs on.
Wouldnt want to do it again. I mean it hammered down

I don't work in the rain no need to i can make enough money on dry days.

Rainy days i use that for training my dogs.

Nope, don't work in the rain either unless it's commercial work that i'm sure i'll get away with. Earn enough not to have to splash and dash anyway. Don't normally lose much money as they get done in the end. Tried it, couldn't see what i was cleaning, couldn't tell if the water streaming off the walls was clean. You might get away with it but it's not down to any skill or technique, in my opinion it makes you look rather desperate. Who washes their car in the rain? No one 'cos you would be wasting your money.

I on the other hand cannot make enough money on dry days so I work when it is raining....to be honest...why do some feel you cannot work in the rain?

Is it a perception that we must be desperate to be working in the rain...it thats the case we should not blame those who come out in their 1000's from May to September to clean a few windows...

Or is it that you just cannot achieved a clean window when it is raining?

Do some feel ashamed to be a window cleaner and added to this..when it is raining they feel doubley embrassed?

Now ask yourself...it's raining and the customer is not in and is never normally in when I clean...do I still clean it???

or is it some myth that goes back in time that working in the rain is just not cricket?

Personally I have been through all these stages and a few more and have come to the conclusion that ...when I have finished cleaning the windows, I leave my payment card it states with many other snippets of info..they have 14 days to pay and should they not be happy with the result, they can within 24 hours call me and I will return to rectify any issues with regard to a window that is not cleaned correctly.

If your in the position to work only in dry conditions fair play...but I suppose many along with myself...need to work.

Don't get me wrong there are numerous days in the year when I sack it and watch my favorite dvd's as the rain is boucning off the floor and blowing a gale....but light to medium rain...I work as I have to.

Light rain is fine with me because nine times out of ten the windows are still dry anyway and you can see what you are doing and what's happening but when the walls are streaming I can't see any point. There's probably a good chance you could get away with pushing slips through doors all day and leaving the kit in the van.

i am building my business up through recommendation and do not lose a percentage of customers etc during the 2 years so far and i think this is down to looking at things from my customers point of view and that includes if someone came to do my windows when it was raining i would tell them where to go. they may not complain now but later on they may to their friends neighbours and possible future contacts you will never now see.
