I got out of the van last Thursday when I had finished, as soon as I stood up I was aware of a deep ache all the way down the back of my left leg. I'm fine when sitting, but as soon as I put any weight on it the pain comes back. I phoned my daughter [ a physio] who outlined a few possibilities. I decided to make a very rare for me doctors appointment as I once had a DVT  after flying to Indonesia.
Guess what? I managed to get through after 20 minutes, only to be told that all appointments for today had been taken, and this is at 9am at a large medical practice.
Ah well back to work if it stops raining.

A local window cleaner went to his doctor last Christmas complaining with abdominal pain. they concluded there was nothing wrong with him, they found him dead on the kitchen floor two weeks ago, he was 57.
And the cuts haven't started to bite yet.

Dai, good luck with the nhs. Until just before xmas 2008 i had similar pain. I'd put up with it for around 16 months before i went to doctors.
I stretch most days and considered myself fairly flexible.
Was offered painkillers and that but it wasn't my style.
I was given an appointment with a physio. Well i got 1 1/4 hours of her time but not once did she touch me.
Most of it was looking and then printing out sheets of paper with exercise i should do. The last 10 minutes was trying to convince her that i was beyond doing these exercises cos of the pain. No good.
I'd never felt so underwhelmed and helpless in my life. She could offer nothing else beyond paperwork.  >:(
A week later i saw a massage woman. She clocked by the end that i had a raised hip and tried pushing my leg back up towards my hip.
She also told me it was work related and i'm lifting something daily with bad technique. (I had used a mark 1 freedom trolley until then.)
I felt 80% better afterwards and could walk pain free.
I swapped to using hosereel and van mount and within a couple of weeks i was back to normal.

Anyway, the moral of this tale is if you are going to see a physio, see your daughter.
Unless i just looked untouchable, you won't get any hands on help looking for the problem.

Also about 5 months ago i was using sl2 at 40 ft along the sea front and a gust of wind almost took it out of my hands.
I managed to keep hold of it and lowered it properly but i felt something twinge in my elbow.
I try alternating but my elbow has been tender ever since.
I might try acupuncture this time around when i get myself into gear.

Dunno but a tap on the knee might cure it.

Ever since I started I find my hands ache on the days I don't work.

I also get 'trigger finger' my finger locks closed and I have to pull my finger to open it, makes some sick-making clicks.
Course I get the kids to pull my finger for a different reason. ;D
