Anyway getting back to Ryan's question

My point is there's no sense beating yourself up over generating response.

Some things work for some and not for others so it's important to experiment.

I don't mind distasteful activities so long as they yield copious amounts of cash.

I used to flagellate myself with birch twigs just to harden myself mentally, although effective it was not very profitable.

Mike

Make your mind up ;D

But seriously. Like Mike says if you leaflet areas where you get cheap jobs then statistically you will only get more cheap jobs referred to you. Go for a lower response but a bigger ticket and then if you do your cleaning and business correctly slowly but surely your referrals and job tickets should increase.

Good point roger :)

So where do you target then ???

Larger houses and drop 500 flyers or smaller houses and drop 1000 flyers ???

Its a hard choice ::)

if your prices are cheap and you put them on your leaflet and aim for council estates you'll get higher than 5 per thou, if your dear and put your prices on you'll be lucky if you get 1 per thou.
but if your in sales then you'll know all this.

i get around 7 to 8 per thou, (enquiries) (in good times run up to xmas) and get buggar all per thou in bad times, jan.

will be getting some more out as soon as i get time, all though i hope i don't find the time if ya know what i mean.

2nd year not started yet, still got 6 weeks to go, first year slightly under estimate due to a very poor jan and my wife being ill, but may just get there, roll on my second year, got a lot more confident and the ltt course has made me money all ready. well glad i did that.
main work line is still google and ad mags.
next up is free spotter bottles to all my past customers, plus 10 arounds each time i drop one off, when passing.

Google adwords?
I still do okay from Yellow pages it makes a profit but I'm not sure if it's worth it anymore, leaflets are a good thing for me as I share the cost with the Dry cleaners (missus's business) and website does okay but couldn't rely on it luckily old customers do look after me.

I get quite a good response from classifieds in local papers.
