We did about 4000 leaflets and had about 3 or 4 jobs from it, I think leaflets are very poor.
Theirs nothing like word of mouth, and we spent about £3,500 with yellow pages and that works fairly well for us.

So if those 4 customers you got from the leaflets, get you another 3 jobs each and so on , then surely leaflets are good value for money at 5000 for 80 quid

Leaflets do work, if the leaflet is right and they are posted properly lets say 1000 a week, 200 each morning before you start cleaning. The only way to make sure they all get delivered is to deliver them yourself. Too many guys get them printed take a few out then because the response isnt instant then they throw the towel in, you have to keep leafleting campaigns going to get the proper results.

I get about 2.5 per thousand although to be honest these numbers won't help you much.

You have so many variables, like areas you delievr, who delivers, offers, solus or multiple leaflets per drop that it's a waste of time asking the question.

For instance say someone does high end, delivers via a third party who delivers 3-4 leaflets and get 1 response per thousand. Crap you say.

Another guy hand delivers just his leaflet to his neighborhood, has a nice leaflet on glossy paper and gets 3 jobs per thou. Obvious which is best yeah?

No, cos the first one has figured out his average job price is £300 and the other guy gets £60!

Mike,
The way i look at it would be 1000 leaflets, 1 new customer with poss referralls + repeat work.
Or 3 new customers with more chance of referralls and more repeat work.
Even tho the ticket value is less the long term income will be more.

Yes, see what you are saying. Personally I would prefer the One client refering someone like them than 3 other £60 a time clients, but accept it doesn't always work out that way.

Ryan,
Seems we missed your original questions, i would recommend Mark at d.print in hull.
I recently got 10000 A6 Postcards on 300 gsm card, full colour both sides, inc delivery for £190, works out at £19 per 1000.

Leaflets are a numbers game but there is no one hit that will bring you in loads of calls immediately every time you do it, you need leaflets, internet and yellow pages, newspaper ads to fast track yourself.

Hi mark

I got about a thou dropped off up to now and got some replys :)

Just thankfull i have got lots of regulars that i have built up over years as i dont like doing the drops myself ::)

Those cards do sound good value and will get more responce compared to a leaflet i guess..

Yes it's been a while and I have something new to peddle.

I don't mind distasteful activities so long as they yield copious amounts of cash.

I used to flagellate myself with birch twigs just to harden myself mentally, although effective it was not very profitable.

The funny thing is there's a woman advertisers in the classifieds of our local paper and she find it very profitable. ;D
