I was once spat on while playing Rugby.

I have taken many a right hand during a match and quite happily taken them, but to be spat on was too much.

I had just tackled the No 10 and as I got up to continue he spat on me, he was still on his knees when he got the biggest right hand I have ever thrown, he was out like a light.

He very nearly got one after the match too, that is not part of rugby as we are all friends after the match, even after a good punch up you have a beer and it stays on the field, but spitting is just down right dirty, offensive and deserves everything it gets back.

what the shop keeper did was discusting
but it comes down to you punched him cause he tried to do you for £5.
he tried it on
you ripped the money in his face
he pushed you from the shop and spit by accident
you told him not to spit on you
he spit
you punched
he was in the wrong from the first point, but you weren't in the right

sometimes you just have to stand up for your self
i know ego and pride are dangerous but sometimes we are all pushed just a little too far....... i am a kind gentle soul but in the wrong time  and place you all would have done the same as me as buddah said  "seek revenge dig two graves"

Sorry to disagree but hand on my heart i would have walked away....Phoned the law and done it that way

I would hope that I would have the presence of mind to do this as well, whilst ensuring the spit sample was preserved for DNA sampling.  I'm not convinced that I would though.  It's just so easy to react in an instant.  It's the sort of incident that could lose you your livelihood in Scotland if it were to cause your license to be revoked.

the police would not be interested.

not going into details but i was once confronted by a youth with a knife, so right in front of him i called 999 on my mobile, was put through to the police who took a description, i said that the offender was standing right in front of me now, they said someone would be there as soon as possible, offender ran off, 1 hour later no police, and no follow up call ever made.

i could have been killed.

best thing to do... IF YOU REALLY WANT TO SORT SOMETHING OUT... diy... but you do a crime, be prepared to do the time. if not walk away.

It must have been infuriating, and it would have been hard not to react as you did.

If someone did me for an agreed price I would applicate all over his windows and walk away.If he doesn't want to pay take back the clean! As for the spitting it would be your word against his.
tearing the tenner in half and giving him his change was a nice touch shame it all went a OTT after. ;D
