I allways thought that if it was new cleans your TDS wants to be as low as possible, only on windows that had been done several times before could you go above 5 maybe up to 10.

Make sure you use two DI resin vessels, even if your RO + DI. If the resin in the first DI vessel is spent, it still acts as a prefilter to the second, your resin will last ages like this.

Think about it, throwing resin away at 005 is a waste, if your input is 020, it still removes 15, and that's 15 the second vessel doesn't have to remove. When the TDS rises after the second one, shake both vessels, after a little while when it creeps up again, swap the second on to the first, fill the first with new resin, and place it second. And so forth and so forth.

I might try a tank of 010 on a school I've got coming up and see how it goes.

010 is fine

ive done a few streets with it upto 050, i should add i didnt know at the time, i then paniced and poured all the water away and asked  a local WC'er who was good enough to fill up some drums for me ( cheers for that again ;))

am sure if your cleaning windows that you have already cleaned several times, you may not notice any spotting right away, but give it a few months and then spot the difrence, i would keep to 000,  for all the resin you would use in a year would be pennys, its not worth it imo

38 months of wfp and I have only ever bought 1 bag of resin. My RO produces water at 0tds. I am going to take my DI tanks out of the van this spring.I sold my Half bag of resin on 2 years ago. My windows are fine.I have allways kept my di tanks in the van just in case but now I want to reduce the weight in my van.

Just a thought but when put tds in tank, which is creeping up as naf pressure. It still shows a green light even though the tds is around 15, which is basicaly saying it is good to go??? I have wondered on this for a bit. Although i do agree it is better to go on the side of caution eg 000 but is it worthgetting worried when discover it has crept up

Recently a good friend of mine asked if he could borrow My DI to check something out on his RO..

I keep reading about people that say the TDS can go up high, as long as it stays below 015  ::)

So not having my DI I tried it on my own windows  ::) My TDS was 007 and the windows wear perfect  ;)

Now I know its still best to keep it as low as possible, But if my RO brings it down low enough and it does I see No reason not to have a DI  :o

Last week I cleaned a whole round with 007 TDS water in direct sunlight and not one window Spotted  :D

I know a lot of you are going to give me stick on this, But when I read comments about peoples TDS that are 002 and people saying its too high ITS not

Please go easy on criticism  I feeling tender today  ;D

A few months ago i had a customer who kept pestering me to clean his conny roof, i was trad at the time but had started to build a wfp system so i brought my wfp pole and plugged straight into his water supply via the hose which was about 38 tds, and it came up great, i wouldnt recommend cleaning windows like that :) but i think it proves you can tolerate a bit, but i think i would rather have 000 for piece of mind :)

Ian

Never used resin. Sorry I did get sold the 'you need 000 water' myth when I bought my first system from Stream.

Used it for about 3 months and have never used it since.

my brothers ro kicks out at 003-005. he doesn't use resin and has no problems.

my merlin kicks out at 010-012 and I use resin, usually at 000 but I don't worry as long as it-s below 010.

I once used 017 and did notice a tiny little bit of spotting, but didn't get any complaints
