NO more DI for me
« on: February 28, 2009, 05:55:22 pm »
Recently a good friend of mine asked if he could borrow My DI to check something out on his RO..

I keep reading about people that say the TDS can go up high, as long as it stays below 015  ::)

So not having my DI I tried it on my own windows  ::) My TDS was 007 and the windows wear perfect  ;)

Now I know its still best to keep it as low as possible, But if my RO brings it down low enough and it does I see No reason not to have a DI  :o

Last week I cleaned a whole round with 007 TDS water in direct sunlight and not one window Spotted  :D

I know a lot of you are going to give me stick on this, But when I read comments about peoples TDS that are 002 and people saying its too high ITS not

Please go easy on criticism  I feeling tender today  ;D

Thats right! when my di runs out in about a month we wont be wasting any more money on it, my ro prduces at 1-3 ppm, as long as there is enough pressure an ro is all you need. not only that, send di water away to be analysed, you wont be happy with the result, there are trace elements of all sorts of nasty things in it  that you really dont want building up in your body over many years. ro water has none of these things.

Have not used resin for 5 years.

If you can produce water below 010 parts pure then you just don't need it.

What a load of crap 000. You have been sold the suppliers dream. At £80.00 a bag I would tell you you needed it as well.

Twin 40 40 boosted to 100psi with about 30% waste

what booster pump is that? that is a good pure to waste ratio. i haven't worked mine out but i think its higher than 30% also i can only get my ro down to about 18ppm after both my 4040's

So you checked your whole round, thats getting the ladder out and checking tops as well as bottoms when they were dry and every single pane of glass was perfect?
You either only did 3 houses in the day or you may be exagerating slightly.
That's my only criticism ;D

Now this is interesting! I'm a slave to 000 tds or at least sub 005 tds.

When my membranes are new I get down to 008 but then up to 012 and remained pretty steady for a few months before it creeps up. (original tap water 300 plus)

I might try a tank of 010 on a school I've got coming up and see how it goes.
It's a game of three halves!

I am guessing it is your tap pressure is bad, I have a 4040 470 in 7 out un pumped 75psi from tap
