Fabric & Fibre Rinse - Big price increase!
« on: December 08, 2008, 05:16:39 pm »
Just got back from my supplier where I was picking up among other things Fabric & Fibre Rinse, he tells me that Prochem are putting up the price by 20% on the 1st January 2009, Prochem rep told him something to do with the price of phosphates (spell check) going up.
Not sure on other prochem products.

Im not sure if its me, but the last lot of pre-spray gold i bought seemed not quite as strong, anyone else noticed this, its a darker colour too, but less of a scent to it, and doesnt seem to clean as well (or is it just me?)

prices should be coming down if anything. maybe exchange rate the problem.

Try craftex's version or even cheaper hydramasters

or use pureclean as a prespray and rinse with water

Hi guys,

I was told all prochem chemicals are going up 8% ??? hope its not 20

As if they was not enough already!

I have stopped using acid rinses since I learned on a recent course that they do leave soil attacting residues.

May still use now and again though cus it clears your machine of limescale great! ;D

PS started using chemspec formula 90 which I have disscovered go a real long way, mixs 960:1 ratio for light soiling to 320:1 for heavy soiling

He did mention the exchange rate was part of the problem as well Mike.

I do use Pureclean sometimes but like carry various presrays and rinses to cover anything.

Any idea what Craftex and HM products are called?
Cheers
Paul

I think it's fibre fresh rinse from John kelly and clearwater rinse from hm which i'm currently using and can't quite figure out how come it's sooo cheap compared to others.

I do think clearwater is in fact some pizheads dehydrated water, at least that's what it smells and looks like.

I always use cwr or hydradry, hm chems are very good, pre spray blitz or powerburst, just trying out craftex champion very good results impressed/

Arent prochem chemicals made in the U.K under license ?? Maybe the exchange rate is just an excuse to bump the price up !!

Ultimately chems are a small part of the cost equation. Give me something that does a great job quickly and I'm happy to fork out for it.

New exhaust, 2 bits of software today £300, and then there's the marketing budget....

I looked in the Craftex book they sent me last month and I thought there prices had gone up by quite a bit, perhaps they are importing water from the states not the chemical!

Think you are right Shaun but it's powdered water and they rehydrate it over here.

Wouldn't bother delving into your shed Clinton.  All prochem chems are made up in the UK

Mike,
Thats not the point "If its good i will pay the extra and use it" we are in a reccession and they are bumping the price up they might even do it again early next year. If they increase there price by 20% what extra do we pay after the distributor has put his cut on, also rember the containers are plastic and that oil is a lot cheaper at the moment, diesel is also cheaper so transport costs will have been reduced  :(
